It's going to be quite the walk.

░▒▓█►─═ ═─◄█▓▒░It was tiring. Tsukasa was cold, wet, and in pain. His throat was sore and his jaw hurt, all because of coughing.
Standing at the front door, Tsukasa took a deep breath before opening it and going in.
"There you are!" His mom yelled, "Where have you been?! You missed your damn surgery!"
"It was today? I thought it was tomorrow." he laughed nervously.
"Don't play dumb with me! You're grounded, hand over your phone."
"But I-"
"Tsukasa!"
"Tch, fine. Take it," Tsukasa grumbled while handing over his phone. He started to walk upstairs before he had another coughing spell.
"Oh, I've rescheduled your surgery to tomorrow," his mom said heading to the kitchen.
Tsukasa shut his room door and locked it. "It's over, I'm going to have to get the surgery."
Tsukasa coughed again. He thought of ways to get out of it. There's no way he'd be able to walk out the front door again.
That's when another idea popped up in his head. He opened his window and climbed out. Instead of jumping down, he hung from the window by grabbing on to the windowsill. Once he felt confident enough, he let go and landed on the ground.
He walked away from the house and started heading towards Rui's house. He threw the petals he coughed up in the trash cans along the way. Baisically, every trash can he passed. His cough had gotten so bad, he couldn't stop coughing unless he sat down.
His plan was to see Rui before he gets the surgery and forgets about him. To make a few last memories. To say one last goodbye.
Then again, Rui had no idea what had happened. As far as he knows, Tsukasa has already gotten the surgery.
While thinking about it, Tsukasa started to find his idea really dumb. He would go to Rui's house, uninvited, and try to hang out with Rui. Rui has a girlfriend and could be hanging out with her. Tsukasa might not even be able to see Rui.
He sighed and continued walking before making it to Rui's house.
Tsukasa knocked on the door, hoping for an answer. Rui's mom opened the door.
"Oh Tsukasa! It's great to see you again! How long has it been again? Hmm, a month?" She smiled.
"Hi Mrs. Kamishiro. COUGH I'm here to see Rui. Is he here?" Tsukasa asked.
"Hah, silly me. That's the reason you're here. I thought you just wanted some more of my great cooking!" She laughed.
COUGH
"Honey, are you okay?" Mrs. Kamishiro asked.
"Yea I'm COUGH f- fine. Thank you." Tsukasa smiled, hiding the rose buds in his pocket.
"Ah, well, sorry for holding you up. Rui's upstairs in his new room. Second door on the right."
"Thank you," Tsukasa said before walking in and heading upstairs to Rui's room.
KNOCK KNOCK
"Come in!" Rui shouted.
Tsukasa opened the door and waved. "Hey Rui."
"Oh Tsukasa," he said while standing up, "I didn't expect you to be here. How did the surgery go?"
"Oh yea, it went, uh, perfect! There's one side effect though, I still cough. The doctor said it'll go on for a, uhm, a week." Tsukasa lied.
"Well, I'm glad your doing better!"
"Yea, heh. Thanks, uh, anyways, what have you been doing?" Tsukasa asked.
"Oh, I just finished building something. It just came to my mind randomly and I decided to build it," he smiled, "Ah, here, let me show it to you." Rui walked over to his desk and grabbed what looked like a mini stage. "You see how it looks like a stage, yeah so, if you push this," Rui pushed a button on the side of the stage, "confetti poofs out!" Just as he said, confetti did poof out, all over Tsukasa.
"Does it COUGH, ahem, does it have any more features?" Tsukasa nervously asked while hiding the buds in his other pocket.
"Yea," Rui shouted without paying attention to the cough, "Look!" Rui pushed another button, and this time, lights lit up the mini stage. It was really cool.
Rui continued on and on about how he built it. Tsukasa tried his best to listen, but he also was trying to hold in his cough.
"And yea that's it," Rui finished.
"It's g-, ahem, it's great! You know I've been thinking of asking you to-, ahem, sorry, of asking you to make me something," Tsukasa said.
"Really?! Tell me!"
"Y-yea, of course," Tsukasa stuttered while trying to hold in another cough.
After a while, Rui had all the details of the item Tsukasa described. Tsukasa was doing good at not coughing, but he reached his limit.
"Okay I'll need this, this, hmm, and probably this," Rui muttered, grabbing random mechanical things.
"I'll-, ahem, I'll be right back," Tsukasa mumbled. Rui nodded, giving him the 'okay' signal. Tsukasa left Rui's room and went to the bathroom.
COUGH COUGH COUGH
Shoot, Tsukasa thought, There's more blood. At this point, I'm just coughing up rose buds and blood and not even the petals. I guess that means I'm getting close to the final stage, heh.
COUGH COUGH
It hurts, he sniffled, I want just want this to end already, but I can't always get what I want...
COUGH COUGH COUGH
