chapter 3

my alarm goes off again. Sleepily I turn it off and drag myself into the bathroom and brush my teeth and hair. I pull the front part of my hair back and tie it into a half up half down bun with a few pieces of hair still dangling in my face. I put on my mascara and even a little highlighter today, finishing the look off with lipgloss. I change into my uniform and check my phone.

1 new text message

I open my phone and read the text

good morning! this is Rowan I got your number from Xavier. Remember to talk to Sydney today. See ya in Occult Studies.

I smirk at the text. Bianca who's still getting around notices.

"Who's that? Is it Rowan??" she asks excitedly.

"Uh yeah, he was just saying good morning." I say

"So what's going on between you guys now? Are you dating or something? I never got to ask about last night either."

"No, we're definitely not dating and last night he had a few questions about the homework last night."

"Mhmmm" she replies not believing me.

I sigh and pack my things into my bag and head out the door to my first class when a announcement comes in over the speakers "Attention all students every other day your first class will be your abilities class with your ability group. Please report to your abilities class asap and then continue your schedule as normal. Thank you."  I change directions and head to the telekinetic class.

I walk in and Rowan is already there. He looks up at me and smiles.

"You look gorgeous today y/n." he says softly

"Thank you Rowan!" I say blushing

I sit next to him putting my bag on the floor. The teacher walks in and starts the lesson, but Sydney never came to class. When class is over Rowan walks me to my next class.

"I guess we're not talking to Sydney today." he says looking up from the ground to me

"Guess not. I wonder where she is. Ill ask her roomie, Yoko." I say back

"Yeah okay. Just text me if you need anything." he says waiting for a response

I nod "yep!"

I walk into class and see a girl I've never seen before. She's very pale, with two long black braids and her uniform if all black as well. The only seat left is next to her. I walk over and take a seat. She turns to me.

"Hello" she says staring at me

"Uh hi, who are you?" I say my brow furrows

"Wednesday, Wednesday Addams." she says flatly in response

"I'm y/n l/n, nice to meet you." I reply with a tight lip smile.

The teacher begins the lesson and during the class I notice that Wednesday is very smart and she has no emotions everything she says is straight faced. She kinda creeps me out.

Class ends and I go on with the rest of my day as normal talking to Rowan any chance I get. He's quite nice and funny, I guess you could say we're friends now.

"Hey y/n!" Rowan shouts and walks faster to get to me "are you going to the harvest festival tonight?"

"Uh yeah, why?"

"Well I was wondering if.. maybe we.. could.. hangout there tonight.. together?" He asks stuttering, he's obviously very nervous. It's probably because he never really had any friends. He's an outcast in a school of outcasts and I'm realizing that hanging out with him might make me an outcast too. I'm okay with that though, he's a great guy. I wish more people knew that.

"Yeah! Of course! Meet me at my room at 7:30 we'll walk out there together." I reply

He smiles. God his smile is cute.. I think to myself.

"Okay sounds like a plan I'll uh- see you later then." He says with a look of pure joy on his face. He waves and turns around and heads back to his room.
