chapter 6

I wake up but this time not to my alarm clock ringing but to a knock on the door. Sleepily I get up and answer the door.

"Y/n l/n I'm going to need you to come with me." says Sheriff Galpin

"Um okay, what is this about? I say, my memories of last night slowly coming back.

"Get dressed and come down to Principal Weems office and we'll talk there." He then turns around and walks down the hall. I close the door. Quickly changing into my uniform, brushing my hair and teeth, and just putting in mascara. I walk downstairs to the Weems office, I open the door, Sheriff Galpin and Rowan look at me. I slowly close the door behind me and walk in.

"Take a seat." I sit down in the seat next to Rowan, I look at him, he looks worried.

"So what we're you two doing in the woods last night?" the sheriff questions us

"We heard a noise coming from there and we investigated. That's when we stumbled upon Sydney getting attacked." I replied only slightly lying

"And you both are sure that it's wasn't a bear or something?" he asks

"This was no bear this thing was huge." I respond

Someone opens the door quickly "Sheriff, you gotta see this" she says

The same girl we seen who got her guts clawed out walks around the corner and into the room completely fine. Me and Rowan look at each other in shock.

"We'll I'll be," The sheriff says "isn't this the same kid you two said died last night?"

"But we saw her get killed.." Rowan said his voice trailing off at the end

"I guess you two are free to go then."

We get up and start towards the door staring at Sydney. They close the door as we walk through.

"Before you say anything, let's go somewhere else I don't want anyone to here us." Rowan says leading me down the hallway he stops in-front of the Edgar Allen Poe statue, looks around to make sure no one sees and snaps twice. We walk down the stairs and I hear the sound of the entrance closing behind me.

"What the hell just happened." I say to Rowan

"I have no clue I mean we both saw that last night, right?"

"Maybe we can go back to the woods there might be some evidence or something." I suggest

"It's worth a try. We just have to be careful." he replies

"Tonight around 9:30 meet at my room. We can sneak out together."

"Alright"

As a result of last night incident, classes were cancelled today so me and Rowan decided to hang out with each other for most of the day.  We leave the secret library and head up to Rowan's room. When we walk in Xavier looks at us and smirks.

"What?" I say to Xavier

"What's with you guys? Are you dating or something?" He asks

"No," I look at Rowan "not really."

"Then why are you in here?"

"We can't hangout? Just as friends?" I say defensively

"Nah you can, I just wanted to know what's going on with you and Rowan."

I roll my eyes, as I turn back to Rowan. He's setting up a movie for us on his laptop.

"So what kind of movies do you like?" He asks me "You can pick!"

"Could we watch a horror movie? Maybe like... the conjuring?"

"Yeah sure" he says while waving me over to him I sit on his bed grabbing one of his blankets and pulling it over me. Xavier gets up and walks out the door without saying a word. I think he's jealous. Rowan gets on the bed next to me and puts his arm around me. I lay my head on his shoulder, as the movie begins. I can't quite explain why but I feel safe around him. Like he's my safe place. Even though I barely know him, he's still so important to me. We're about halfway through the movie when I jump at a scare in the movie.

"You okay?" Rowan says slightly laughing

"Yeah that just scared me." I say starting to laugh a little too

We finish the movie and start another one but I feel my eyes start to get heavy. I try to keep myself awake. But I keep closing my eyes.

"Hey, if you want you can sleep for a little while." Rowan says looking at me, he could tell that I was half asleep. I nod my head and he lowers himself on the bed to where we're both laying down. I put my head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat and feeling his chest rise and fall as he breathes I slowly start to fall asleep. At one point I here him take his glasses off and put them on his end table, he holds me and drifts off to sleep as well.

A/N: wooooo okay busy day sorry I didn't get this done until just now. Uh there definitely gonna be some unexpected drama coming up but don't worry u and Rowan are gonna be just fine. Love you guys and thank for reading hope you like this one byeeee😘😘 (883 words)
