not everything is as it seems.. Rowan Laslow x Reader

chapter 7

I wake up still laying on Rowan, he's awake and on his phone. I sit up, he still doesn't have his glasses on, I've never seen him without them before. He's still so handsome.

"What time is it?" I ask, barely awake.

"Uh it's almost 8:00, how did you sleep love?" My cheeks turn pinkish at the nickname, he notices too.

"Really good actually. How long have you been awake?"

"Not long, maybe half an hour." He says grabbing his glasses

"You know this is the first time I've seen you without glasses."

"Yeah this is probably the first and last time."

"What why?" I ask sounding disappointed

"I look dumb without them." He says

"No you don't. You look handsome with and without them." I say. I can feel my cheeks getting hot, not knowing how he'll react to me saying something like that.

"R- Really? I- uh thank you." He stutters

"Yeah" I say quietly

Ding. Rowan picks up his phone and looks at the message.

"Who is it?" I ask him

"I can't tell you.." he says

"What, why not?" I start to get worried

"It's nothing bad I promise. I'm just not allowed to tell you. You'll find out soon though." He says sounding sorry

"Okay." I say a bit annoyed

"Please don't be mad."

"I'm not." I say trying to be more enthusiastic

"Mhmm" he says with a slight bit of laughter

We talk for a little bit longer and then we put our plan of sneaking out to the woods in to action. We walk downstairs making sure no one's there and sneak out a side door. The late fall air is cold, I rub my arms trying to keep them warm. Rowan looks over at me and starts taking off his jacket.

"Here." He says putting the jacket around my shoulders.

"Thank you." I look up at him and smile

We reach the lot where the festival was and start walking into the woods reaching the site of the attack.

"There's gotta be something here.." I say looking around

"Hey I think I found something!" Rowan shouts picking up a book from the ground "Its my mom's! The one she wrote. But there's a page ripped out.. it might be here somewhere, keep looking."

We keep looking but find nothing. We call it a night and head back to Nevermore. When we walk in the main hall is empty, we sneak down to secret library and put the book back. We hear the entrance start to open and someone walk down the stairs. It's none other than Wednesday Addams.

"Just who I was looking for." She says looking at us "Rowan, this came from your mothers book." She says pulling out a page from her pocket "Do you know where it is?"

"Yeah we just found it. Sydney had it in the woods." He replies

"I know I was there. I went to look for it but it was gone." She says handing the page to Rowan

I walk to them looking at the page as well. I open the book and find where the page had been ripped out. Wednesday puts the torn out page next to it the picture lining up. It shows a pilgrim in Nevermore's quad standing in-front of a girl who looks just like Wednesday.

"Wait is that you?" I say looking at Wednesday

"I believe so. Sydney told me that I am destined to destroy the school and she showed me that picture." She explains to us

We tape the page back into the book and tell Wednesday to talk to us if she ever needs help and she insists that she's fine just by herself. She leaves and so do me and Rowan.

"Well I'm going back to my room, if you want you can come hangout." He says

"Thanks but I'm tired I'm gonna head to bed."

"Oh okay," he walks closer to me and slowly put his arms around me "goodnight love" he says, i hug him back and walk to my room. I walk in and Bianca looks up from her phone at me.

"Hey, where have you been all day?" She asks

"I've been hanging out with Rowan."

"Your boyfriendddd!" She says mockingly

"He is not my boyfriend!!"

"That's not what everyone's saying.."

"Yeah I know." I roll my eyes

"Are you guys just staying friends or are you like, talking?"

"I guess you could say we're talking. I mean he calls me love, he gave me his hoodie," I say pointing to the hoodie I forgot to give back. "we've been hanging out a lot, we've held hands.."

"You guys are basically dating y/n!" she exclaims

"Ugh i don't know.. I mean I definitely like him I just don't want to mess our friendship up by making anything more."

"What I would do, is wait a little longer for the rave'n next weekend and see if he asks you. If you want I can find out if he's planning on it for you."

"Yeah okay, I'll do that and you can ask if you want."

"Yay okay! I'm gonna go to sleep and we can talk more about it tomorrow!" She says as she pulls her blanket over her chest

"Alright goodnight!" I say slipping into my pajamas.

"Goodnight." She says

I turn off my lamp and get into bed. I think about Rowan and all that's happening between us. He makes me so happy and he so sweet and unbelievably handsome. I finally drift off to sleep.
