chapter 8

My alarm goes off again the same blaring sound I've heard almost every morning since I got here. Bianca is already gone. I check my phone 3 new texts. I unlock my phone the first one is a group text saying that classes resume tomorrow. The second one is Bianca. I text her back

Bianca: girl! I've got news!!

Me: hey what's going on I just woke up.

Bianca: soooo I asked rowan and.... he said he probably going to ask he just doesn't know if you would want to go with him or not.

Me: what did you say after that?

Bianca: I told him that I'm sure you would love to go with him. But you've got to pick out a dress!!

Me: omg ur right do you wanna go out and look for one today with me?

Bianca: yeah ofc lmk when ur ready and we'll walk together!

Me: okay see ya in like an hour then!

I look at my other text it's from Rowan. I reply.

Rowan: hey do you wanna go to the weathervane with me today if ur not busy?

Me: hey yeah I'd love too. I have some stuff to do with Bianca today but after that we definitely can

Rowan: okay just text me when you get done love

Me: okay I will handsome🤭

I don't know what wave of confidence rushed over me but being flirty with Rowan was exciting. I can just imagine him blushing at the text calling him handsome. I get up and start getting ready I change into some baggy black cargos and a tight white graphic tee. I go into the bathroom and brush my hair and teeth. I curl my lashes, put on mascara and blush with a little highlighter on my nose and finish up by adding lipgloss. I slip on my black converse and text Bianca I'm ready. She replies saying she's heading back to the room. I grab my wallet and she walks in.

"Hey, you ready?" She asks

"Yep" I say walking towards the door

On the way there I tell her about how Rowan asked me to go to the weathervane with me today. She says she thinks it's a date. I just see it as two friends going to get coffee together. But now thinking about it maybe it is. We finally arrive at the dress shop in Jericho. I walk in and one of the dresses immediately catches my eye. It's thin strapped white and sparkly. It goes perfectly with the theme for the rave'n too. I look at the price tag. It's only 35 dollars, I have plenty I look for my size and hold it up to me showing Bianca.

"Oooo you are going to look so good in that! You should definitely try it on!" She says looking at the dress

I try on the dress and it fits perfect I walk out of the fitting room and Bianca immediately starts complimenting me. I change out of the dress and buy it and the front counter. Bianca finds a dress too, hers is long very light blue almost white and long sleeved with an open back. She looks stunning in it, she's currently still interested in Xavier and I'm sure he'll love it too. She buys her dress too and I text Rowan that I'm in Jericho and done shopping with Bianca and he says he's walking there already.

"Could you take my dress back to Nevermore with you please?" I ask Bianca

"Yeah sure." She's says grabbing my bag.

"I'm gonna go meet Rowan at the weathervane, thank you so much for coming with me today!"

"Of course, we should do this again sometime I had a lot of fun!" She replies.

I hug her goodbye and head to the weathervane and sit down not even five minutes later Rowan walks in and sits next to me.

"Hey, y/n" he says looking at me

"Hi!" I say softly

"How's your day been so far?" He asks

"Really good actually." I say giving him a smile

"That's good." He pauses "So uh I kinda had something I wanted to talk to you about." He says looking down at his hands

"What's up?" I say putting my hand in his

"I was wondering if you would want.. to um- go to the rave'n with me as maybe more than friends?" He looks up at me.

"I would love too" I reply

He smiles and looks back down at his hands.

"Yeah? I was actually really worried you would say no."

"Rowan I really like you it's almost impossible to say no."

We continue the conversation, and it starts to get late. We walk back to Nevermore and up to my room.

"Well thank you for hanging out with me today and you know saying yes."

"Your welcome" I smile and put my hands in his. I look up into his eyes. It's quiet the only thing I can hear is our breathing and my own heartbeat. He slowly leans towards me and our lips meet. Immediately I get butterflies in my stomach. I take one of my hands and put it on the side of his face. We pull away and just look at each other. Everything in the moment just feels so right.

"Goodnight love." He says

"Goodnight Rowan" I reply slowing letting go of him and heading towards my door. He walks off down the hallway and I enter my room. My phone goes off and I look at the screen it's a random number. I unlock my phone and my eyes widen when I see what I've been sent.

A/N: I did not mean to take this long getting to this chapter my phone got taken in the middle of writing and I'm just now finishing I love you guys so much and I'm sorry you had to wait so long.
