I spat out. He reached out his hand to me, and the knife of Evil flew to him by itself.
"You're special," he said.
I watched him. I was ready to start fighting at any time. One suspicious movement would suffice.
"Anyone, who has ever been stabbed with this knife, immediately submits to my domination. But not you," he said. "Tell me, Angus, what does your corrupt heart desire?"
At first, I thought it was a trap. That he would try to kill me after all that anyway. I told myself, that I had nothing to lose.
"I want to see Dundee," I said quietly. "Burn..."
A mischievous smile appeared on his face. "I can help you with that, but on one condition."
I looked at him. What could that bastard want?
"It will be you who will lead Crail," said the sorcerer.
I just watched him quietly for a moment and then turned away.
"I would do anything to see Dundee fall," I said, looking into the distance. "If that means, leading your
Chaos wizards... I have no problem with that..."
I stepped towards the ship. It was quite badly damaged. I suspected this would take a few weeks of repairs. However, it was very important for my goal.
I opened the back door and stepped inside. All the while I could feel the gaze of Zargotrax on my back. I felt like he was afraid of what I was going to do. I smiled.
Right in front of me, a sign flashed on the screen. It was Hootsman. I widened my eyes and turned sharply. Zargothrax didn't seem to notice that. I breathed a sigh of relief.
I closed my eyes and rubbed my temples. Fighting the forces of that stabbing was very challenging. I carefully pressed one button on the control and hid the message so I could read it later.
"How do you want to get to Crail?" I asked. "My ship is not going anywhere. It's going to take me a few weeks to fix it."
I kicked one of the inner sheets that had fallen off.
"Do you think I didn't keep my deposits here?" He laughed.
Of course, he does. Maybe he was a clone of the dirty wizard, but he seemed to be counting on me to survive. Otherwise, he would have disappeared from here a long time ago and left me here.
From outside above us, there was the sound of a hyperdrive turning off.
Carefully, so that the clone could not see it, I took one of the magical swords that each of our ships had in its equipment, now in a reduced practical form, and slid it under the armour. They were advantageous in that if a finger was inserted into a certain fuse on the hilt, which was equipped with magical runes, the blade would slide out. I preferred my classic sword with a blade thinner than a normal one, but wider than the rapier that was currently sitting in the elegant scabbard on my left side.
The hammer wasn't here. I breathed a sigh of relief. Ralathor seemed to have had enough sense to take it back to Dundee.
I grabbed a long, black travel coat with a small Fife emblem on the brooch that fastened under my neck and pressed the control option to delete all information from the system except my access.
In this way, I could be sure that when repairing or transporting it, they would not get information that could harm the country of Fife. Of course, along with that, I also deleted the Hootsman's report, whatever it was. But now I couldn't risk finding something like that.
I got dressed in my cloak and walked out, running my fingers over the handle that closed the door.
There were two spaceships. A strange rope flew out of one and anchored to mine and lifted it into the air. The other was on the ground not far from me, just opening the door.
I threw a hood on my head and pulled it down to my forehead. In this way, the risk of attack from others was less.
Zargotrax signalled me to get in and off we went. After a few minutes in hyperspace, we appeared above a city.
The cunning sorcerer looked at me with a mean smile.
"Welcome to Crail, Angus..."
