He got up and took the hammer of Glory in his hand.
I swallowed. I knew very well how powerful it was. One blow was enough and Regulon and I could have been dead.
I see you have joined the fight. I wanted to take it down myself, but... I'm glad you're here. Anyway, I'm coming from the other side. I'm not far away... A mysterious yet familiar voice echoed in my head.
It had to be Hootsman. No one else could do that. I decided to buy him time.
"Why this, Angus? Why the attack on Dundee?" I asked.
"Didn't you ask about that at our last meeting?" he said. "Well, I guess I just dreamed."
"Is yourself So corrupt that you decided to destroy your own home?" I asked.
"I don't want to destroy it. I want to give it a king," he said. „Beside that, it's not my home."
"Do you think people will be happy to be ruled by a tyrant, even bigger than Zargothrax?!" I shouted. "Which is even working with him?!"
"Who says I'm on his side?" he said.
At that moment, however, in addition to his blue eyes, another eye looked at me - much larger and more frightening, and a sound similar to thunder echoed through the place.
Angus' hand touched something next to him and began to run over it. The eye disappeared.
"What is that..?" I stammered.
"I'm sorry you didn't think of looking down and making sure I was dead," he said. "We could have avoided all of this."
But I didn't notice what he was saying. My head was full of that eye.
Suddenly, the eye appeared again. A moment later, the second and suddenly something big and dark picked up and turned right to Hootsman and roared So loud that I had to cover my ears. I saw that he had done the same. The only one who remained completely calm was Angus.
"You can be glad she's just roaring and didn't eat you right away, Hootsman," Angus said, without turning around.
I opened my mouth. How did he knew it was a barbarian? Even we didn't knew he was So close to him already.
"Put the axe down, or I'll let her make you a cracker," he continued calmly.
How could he have known that Hootsman had an axe in his hand? A shiver ran down my spine as I looked at his face. The patch, which he had on his eye when he attacked Dundee, was gone. Two eyes were looking directly at me, but each was different. One was steel blue, just as I remembered. The other one, however...
It was sapphire blue, with a thin ring of fire around the iris.
Was that why he knew, that Hootsman was behind him without turning around?
"What do you want to do?" he asked. "Imprison me? Kill me?"
"We weren't the ones who invaded," I said.
"Oh, Ralathor... I didn't do it of my own volition. I would never hurt the kingdom," he said. "But Hoots' magic is waning more and more. And the weaker its charm... The stronger is the power of the Knife of Evil..."
