The Triton

I promised. That's when I promised him, I idiot. I boarded a spaceship and headed to Triton, where there were Questlords of Inverness who inhabited a base that originally belonged to the knights of Crail before we got them out of there. Did they know about what had happened in Dundee? Did they know that Angus was alive? If so, why didn't they warn us?
Then something much scarier came to my mind - were they even still alive?
Soon I saw a planet in front of me, and there, in the space above it... I saw a ship of Crail, which in an instant opened the hyperspace window and disappeared.
"Shit!" I cursed.
I didn't like this at all. I entered the atmosphere of the planet and began to slowly descend to the place where the base was. I was horrified to see smoke and big damage. Did the corrupt Crail attack the complex of buildings? That must have been the work of the ship I saw. I landed, jumped out of the ship and ran in search of someone who could tell me what had happened. I saw that someone was coming to meet me. I had my hand on the laser gun and was ready to shoot. But it was Regulon.
He was the survivor of the first attack on Triton, he was the man who revived Proletius as a hologram, before... Happened what happened. "Hey!" I blurted out, catching him as he was wounded. "What happened? Why didn't you call Dundee?"
"We didn't expect them," Regulon shook his head. "They came as shadows. Out of nowhere. At first, we didn't know how they got in..."
"At first?" I asked, helping him sit on a nearby stone.
"We had no idea they were knights of Crail," he said. "As soon as we saw the ship on the monitor, we tried to identify it. But the ship didn't belong to them..."
A few hours earlier, Triton, the space base of the Questlords of Inverness (from Regulon's point of view)
"Sir, our radars have detected the opening of hyperspace," said one of my subordinates.
I immediately walked over to the monitor and looked at what was going on. An identification box jumped on it. It was a ship from Dundee.
"Dundonians?" I said quietly. "What are they doing here? Did something happen?"
"Sir, someone is standing in front of the gate. Apparently, he brings us new information," said the soldier, who communicated with the guards at the entrance.
"Is he alone?" I asked.
"Yes," he replied.
"Let him in, but let the two armed guards guard him," I said. "Bring him here."
Why would Dundee send the informant without letting me know? Something wasn't right here. Two soldiers and a person in a long black coat with a hood on his head entered.
"I am Sir Regulon. Leader of the galactic fortress of the Questlords of Inverness. What does the kingdom ask? Why did they send you?" I asked. The person in front of me took off his cloak and I opened my mouth. This was not possible. I heard...
"The kingdom didn't send me, Regulon. I came alone," said Angus McFife XIII.
Angus McFife XIII!!! Of whom I have heard that fell at Schiehallion.
The guards raised their heads and took a step back. This was a shock to everyone.
"My lord," I blurted out, "I heard that you are..."
"Dead?" he said.
That voice... It was his, but those eyes... That look didn't belong to him. It was dark. So dark. Like Zargothrax's. I didn't like it.
"Maybe I am," he said. "You don't know what pain is. None of you knows. What it's like when the fire burns the skin."
I swallowed. No. This was not the king of Dundee. I pulled out my gun and pointed it at him, after which the guards did the same.
"Forgive me, my lord," I said with tears in my eyes.
I didn't think it would be me who would end his life. But this wasn't him. It couldn't be.
He looked at me with a strange look, scratched his neck and took something in his hand. I opened my mouth when I saw the hammer of Glory.
"No… You… Forgive me," he said. "Everybody run away!" I shouted as he lifted the mighty Astral Hammer above his head.
I used the magic for teleportation to get out of that place.
The moment I disappeared, a deafening bang echoed through the space, and I knew that everyone in the building was dead.
Everyone except the one who attacked. Everyone except Angus...
