"Easy Alina," her dad carefully helped her out of bed with Mason's help.

It's been six hours since the surgery. Alina is stable but obviously still struggling to talk. She hasn't tried to open her mouth out of worry, but she has eaten liquid food. She's also struggling a bit to stand on her own two feet, but that's because she's been laying down for so long.

Mason and Peter are taking her to the bathroom so she can get changed into her clothes with the help of her mom.

They sat her down on the chair in the large bathroom, letting her mom help her get changed. She put on the sweatpants and the hoodie Mason had brought for her from her apartment.

"I'll braid your hair for now, but tomorrow we'll try to shower, ok?" Her mom told her as she started braiding her hair. Alina nodded in agreement.

She looked at herself in the mirror, staring at the large bandage on her throat, thinking of how big and ugly the scar would probably look on her. She feels so weak and lost; having her mom braid her hair and put her clothes on made her feel like she was this lost 8-year-old girl again, and she felt weird about it.

"There you go, sweetheart," she looked at her in the mirror with a smile, "I love you," she added with a kiss on top of her head. Alina smiled and made a heart shape with her fingers.

As they finished up, Mason and Peter picked up all their stuff from the room. Alina walked out with her mom holding her arm, "Ready to go?" Her dad asked excitedly, Alina smiled and nodded.

Mason held her by the waist, walking her to the car, while her parents checked off with the doctor that they're leaving.

As they stepped outside, it had been snowing, and she felt a breath of fresh air, excited to go home again.

"There you go, love," Mason carefully helped her inside his car.

Since Alina's parents came with a cab, Mason obviously would take them too, over to Alina's apartment. Mason offered to take them to his house, but they resisted, saying that it was best if she stayed where all her stuff was.

He took them over to her apartment safely. Alina managed to walk on her own, carefully. As she stepped into her apartment, she felt like home again, and happy to be where she wanted to be.

Her mom hugged her from behind as Mason and Peter brought the stuff inside.

"You happy?" She asked her daughter, Alina smiled and giggled, almost crying out of happiness.

"Make sure to lay down in bed, ok? I'll make something to eat," her mom said.

"I can help her to bed," Mason offered. Lisa smiled at him and let him help her daughter.

Mason followed Alina to her bedroom, "Welcome home," he said, smiling at her as he helped her take her jacket off. She looked at him and smiled.

He prepared the bed, making sure it was in a 45-degree position; it was the best way to prevent her from swelling up or causing any trouble.

He turned around to her and was immediately welcomed by a hug from her. He wasn't ready at her sudden action but didn't hesitate to hug her back.

"You ok?" he softly asked. She nodded and looked at him, placing a kiss on his lips. He smiled back, placing another kiss on her forehead, and hugged her again.

"I'm so glad you're ok," he mumbled, she hugged him tighter, showing appreciation.

After a while of hugging, he helped her back into bed, she carefully laid down, letting him spread out the blanket over her.

"Make sure to get some sleep, ok? I have to go to training, but I'll be back as soon as I can, I'm sorry, baby," he tucked her in. She looked at him and nodded, she caressed his cheek, letting him know that it's ok.

"I love you so much. Just text if you need anything," he said, placing a kiss on her forehead. She smiled again, forming a heart shape with her fingers and then pointing at him, making him smile back at her cute action.

He left the bedroom to check up on her parents before leaving. "Is she in bed?" Her mom asked him

"Tucked and warm," Mason smiled.

"Great!" Lisa smiled.

"Staying for dinner?" Peter asked him as he walked over to him.

"I'd love to, but I have to sort out everything with training, they couldn't give me the day off today," Mason explained.

"I totally forgot about your training, Mason. I'm so sorry about this," Lisa said.

"There's no need to apologise; I'll ask again for a few days off, until Alina gets better."

"Don't be silly; she'll be fine, and we're here. You go to training and focus on that," Lisa assured him

Mason looked hesitant; as much as he loves the boys and wants to go back to training, he won't be able to focus if Alina is still recovering.

"We're with her 24/7, nothing is going to happen to her; she will sleep half the time anyway," Peter laughed, patting Mason's back. Mason let out a soft giggle.

"I'll still make sure to come here every day; she's more important than football," Mason told them.

They both looked at him adoringly, "We're so lucky that Alina has you, Mason. Thank you for always looking after her," Lisa softly rubbed his cheek. Peter patted his back again, showing his appreciation too.

"It's my job," he smiled.
