Marc prayed over supper then Mal began cutting into the stuffed pork tenderloins then the herby roasted chicken.

Mike helped Lisa make her plate while Marc helped Maddie.

Puck was put out that Mercedes put salad onto his plate... until he saw everything in the loaded veggie option. "What's this?"

Mercedes followed his finger. "It's pork belly. Basically bacon but tastes better."

He weighed it in his mind. He didn't eat pork excluding traditional bacon so where did that leave him? He decided to throw caution to the wind and try a chunk. He ate it and his tastebuds exploded. "Whoa! That's how pork belly tastes?!"

She giggled at his hushed words. "Yeah."

"Mini Mama can throw down!" He ate another chunk.

"Don't just eat the bacon out of your salad."

"What's this?" He asked about a radish slice.

"It's a radish slice."

"What's that?"

"It's a vegetable."

He made a face.

"Eat that!"

He scowled but ate it. It tasted delicious! Was salad good and his mother just didn't know how to cook?

Mercedes giggled.

Across from them, Finn was having his own problems. "What is that? Pumpkin?"

Quinn gasped and looked but Marcy was busy fighting with stabbing her maybe too tender chicken with her fork. The blonde released a relieved breath. "We can't say the "P" word."

""P" word?"

"Marcy hates pumpkin."

He did, too, not liking too many vegetables. "Then what is this?" He pointed to the orange pile on his plate that she'd given him.

"That's sweet potatoes."

He'd never heard of sweet potatoes before. "What is it?"

"A vegetable."

"What's in it?"

"Butter."

"Butter? That's it?"

"Marcy doesn't like her sweet potatoes with a "bunch of bullshit". She salts and oils her potatoes before wrapping them in foil and baking them. When they're cooked, she whips them with butter."

He stuck his fork in the pile and took a minuscule amount.

She watched him inspect the utensil. "Finn? Just eat it."

He stuck it in his mouth. It slid down his throat because Marcy really whipped the potatoes. He was super surprised. It was simple but delicious.

Quinn could tell his mind was blown. "Try the corn."

"What kind of corn is this?" He wanted to know.

"It's basically Mexican street corn but off the cob."

He tried it and promptly drooled. "That's good."

She giggled.

Down from them, Tina was having a moment with the cheddar and chives biscuits. She wasn't even big on cheese but they were delicious. "I want to sleep on this."

Mike smirked. "Why?"

"It's so soft and pillowy." Tina took another and broke it apart beautifully.

His smirk grew as he gave her two scoops of the baked five cheese (Fontina, Smoked Gouda, Sharp Cheddar, Havarti, Mozzarella) macaroni and cheese.
