My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light 'Em Up)

Santana had fun at her birthday party but was super terrified of her parents finding out she was pregnant.

Artie was free falling. He didn't think he could get anyone pregnant but now that he had and two someones at that, he was reevaluating everything in his life.

Brittany was ecstatic. She was going to be a mommy with the loves of her life. One couldn't tell her a thing.

Marcy thought that was wise.

Paris simply cried.

Marcy was unamused but knew they were feeling a tonne of emotions all at one time. Pregnant women usually did.

Mr. Shue had the bright idea to have original songs for Regionals.

Everyone had to write at least one song to present to the class so that they could have choices for the competition.

Mercedes and Santana did fantastic. Mercedes had an uptempo song featuring her favorite catchphrase about lifting herself up while Santana had a smoky jazz number mocking Sam.

Mr. Shue liked where things were going but no one else had anything good.

Including Marcy, who simply said no.

Mr. Shue had no idea what that meant but she kept saying "no". It was frustrating.

Quinn bent and helped Rachel write a song because the Jewish songstress had no ability so they did end up with a few numbers.

The kids won Regionals, which was a shock.

They decided to host a Night of Neglect to drum up money for Nationals. Sunshine was supposed to headline but it fell through.

Lauren persuaded Mercedes to act like a diva so she could get the closing spot and it worked. The Leo drove Finn and Rachel crazy with her demands.

Puck thought it was hilarious even though he had to do things, too. He even got his wife a rescue puppy so she could "dry her hands on a fresh puppy".

But Mercedes wasn't happy. She didn't want to act like a monster to get respect. She wanted her talent to get her far and she wanted to stay sweet while doing it.

Rachel had to coax her inside. She had no idea why Mercedes wasn't getting the spotlight the way she wanted but supposed it was because Mercedes was too kind. She was hungry for the spotlight and would do anything to get it, including stepping on people and gaining enemies. Mercedes was too kind.

Mercedes didn't know what to do and came inside to apologize to everyone. She went on to a near empty auditorium and sang Aretha Franklin's Ain't No Way with her whole soul and gained thunderous applause.

She thought Rachel would replace her so she could close but the selfish girl said she couldn't. Mercedes already did.

Mercedes felt warm.

Finn felt so guilty. He couldn't believe he broke Rachel's nose while dancing. He knew he had no rhythm but this was ridiculous.

He was at the doctor with her while she got checked out. Quinn understood but he still felt guilty. Maybe for more than the accident.
