"i don't wanna be your friend, i wanna kiss your lips."

"Sodapop! Give. It. Back." I yelled through gritted teeth. Sodapop was currently running through the Curtis house with a note. And it was more like a heartfelt love letter that was extremely private.
"Try and get it!" He yelled back before running into Darry, his older brother and pretty much the dad of the gang. Darry didn't even say anything. He simply snatched the folded paper from Sodapop and handed it to me.
I smiled triumphantly as Sodapop stood up and walked over to the couch which was currently being occupied by Two-Bit, Lonnie, and Dally.
The door swung open a few moments after. Ponyboy and Johnny walked inside looking exhausted.
"Hey guys," I said absentmindedly as I scribbled something onto the letter.
"Hey, Val." Johnny replied. Ponyboy sat next to me at the table and tried to peek over my shoulder.
"Where have the two of you been?" Darry demanded. Ponyboy refrained from rolling his eyes as he spun around in his seat. "We were on our way back from school and got trailed by some socs, that's all."
Darry just grunted and walked back to his room.
"So, what're you writing about?" Ponyboy asked. "It's nothing." I shrugged and leaned away, causing him to lean even closer.
"She's working on her love letter!" Two Bit yelled from the couch. "Oh, shut your trap!" I yelled back.
Soda and Two-Bit just laughed even harder at my outburst.
"Aw, c'mon guys. Leave her alone." Lonnie said as she swatted Two-Bit on the shoulder. "Whatever," I muttered. I quickly gathered my things and started towards Pony and Sodapop's room.
"Wait up, Val," Ponyboy said, stopping me from disappearing into his room. "At least somebody isn't making fun of me." I grumbled.
"Yeah, but you you're still gonna show me the letter. Right?" He grinned. "You're all impossible." I said and rolled my eyes for emphasis.
"Atta boy!" Two-Bit yelled, but not before I chucked a pillow at him.
Once Ponyboy closed the door I got in my usual spot on his bed as he laid down beside me.
"Alright, you've gotta tell me who the letter's for. I'm your best friend aren't I?" He said. I opened my mouth to say something then closed it. Ponyboy was pretty much my best friend, and whether it's because we're the same age or because we just click, I couldn't tell you.
"Fine," I finally said, "But, if I tell you, you have to tell me about who you like." I continued. "Okay, deal" Ponyboy shrugged.
I turned onto my side so that I could face Pony, then I reached into my jacket's pocket and pulled out the letter.
