Spinned in questions and confusion
Do mysteries have some freedom?Maa took me out from the temple. The deep clouds of the night sky had disappeared then. The moon too, I couldn't find anywhere. At one side of the sky, the blue had fade into purple like some newness the sky too was bringing. All a new land with new things, each and every moment was amusing me, just opening my two eyes I tries to grip the everything.
My bare feet crossed the temple courtyard, palace garden, long pavilion, outer palace lawn, courtyard, core garden and many more. The grass touched rugged, gave tickle, courtyard was cool to touch. On that way, Maa kept introducing me about the surroundings of path. What space of palace is for which purpose, where the which ceremony happens, which lane had meet which pavilion, which garden had belong to which chamber, etc. I was listening all those carefully and tried to remember those as that place, as Maa mentioned that from now until I get married this is my home. And for marriage, there had been time. I was in thought for sometime that what going to happened in marriage that I have to left the place.
"Whatever" I jerked my shoulder and kept following Maa. All the things were seeming beautiful to me. Each palace was of each type, the ruffling yellow flag at top was shining at starlight. On the gloomy ambience, me, Maa and many other were walking and their jewels were making a constant ting-tong sound.
I noticed, after coming out from the temple, many female joined us. They were not in go shiny attires or were wearing heavy jewelleries. The brown attire with green border, draped like men in lower body and female like upper body. There physique let everyone know that no doubt they were female. They followed us, walked behind us only. Looking at me and Maa, they bowed their head but before entering to the inner chamber of palace, they stopped, they stayed outside.
"Maa, they?" I asked about them by pointing my fingers.
"Rakshini,", Maa replied, putting my pointed index finger down. "Don't they are called Rakshini, the protector. They are the female guards just like you saw men in armour standing throughout the palace corridors. They are armour-less but they carry weapons under attire. They will be with you, whenever you will go out of your chamber. They are for female's special protection and from now, they will be with you too for security."
"And why I need protection or why such security?"
"If anyone or anything come to hurt you, then. Hope those days will never come." Maa mumbled the last sentence.
"But why one will hurt me? And what would do by hurting me?"
"Krishnaa-" Maa rolled her eyes. "We will be late. Come fast with me and no more words."
'Hurt', 'what to hurt?' and 'why hurt?' these three questions were my first unanswered questions. At that moment I never believed that Maa don't have answer. But, very later, I realised many questions we have to find answer by our own in the own way, it depends, varies.
The sparks of the lantern shone my eyes by its turbulent reflection on the water. A covered water residing body at the centre of the palace, shining at whole glory though I am still outside the quarter.
Few steps I had to climb. Stone of the stairs were cooler than the other pathways. I observed the palace before only while walking towards that. It was tall, more ornamented, had more windows and wall were painted with light colors in few particular portions. Mostly painting were of flowers or floral.
The dark stone chiseled palace had some cozy cool ambience. Ceilings were neither too high, decorative with flamed lantern. Windows are elevated, covered with fine design pattern with tiny gaps yet my eyes could able to see the outside.
