A/N: Before starting to read, I want to clarify a possible doubt.

There will be parts that see the two Mordred together. I will refer to them as follows:

Mordred (♀): Fate World

Mordred (⚨): DxD World

Have a good read.

"Hmm... you've been looking depressed since you got back," Mordred said as she lay next to Y/N.

Y/N had an internal conflict. From his impartial point of view, Arthurian legend was anything but glorious. It was a heap of mistakes made by an incapable king who could not understand the feelings of people and therefore he was unfit to be king.

However, this view originated from the fact that he saw the legend of King Arthur as a neutral spectator, but participating in it as Morgan would have done made him feel guilty.

King Arthur had to die to allow Britain to progress and evolve to become that of his time, but the people who lived there would suffer. The wars were won by those who were willing to make sacrifices and certainly, the peasants would suffer the most.

"If there really was a way not to involve the innocent, it would be like living in a fairy tale." Y/N turned to Mordred who was smiling. "We knew that since we decided to follow Eclipse's plan."

"Wars are won by those willing to sacrifice everything," Y/N took a deep breath. "I thought I had accepted it, but I can't. The idea that innocent people get involved makes me sick."

They were aware that interacting with King Arthur would be dangerous despite this they had chosen to do it. Mordred had not forgotten that Y/N had chosen the longest and most winding way (Eclipse) to an easier one (Gods of Time).

"I'm tired," Y/N said quietly. "I just wish this would all end quickly."

He wanted to go home and forget everything like it was a bad dream. He wanted to dream that everything would end in the best possible way even if he had no idea what it was.

Punch.

Y/N grunted with pain when Mordred punched him in the head. Although his skin was that of a dragon, Mordred's fists really hurt, especially when she promoted herself to rook.

"I don't want to believe that you didn't notice," Mordred said sternly. "This peace is not real."

Y/N knew that. Having met Issei Hyoudou, he knew a little bit about Boosted Gear's abilities. And he was aware of the power of the Red Dragon Emperor's Excalibur from the very moment he looked upon it.

The only ones who had not been affected by the power of Excalibur Ruler were him who was the biblical God, Mordred, Xenovia, Tamamo and Jack for the heroic pieces they possessed, Martha who was a demigoddess and all who possessed a Sacred Gear.

"But how do you know?" Y/N asked.

"Guinevere confided it to me," Mordred said. "That's why she came here."

-------------------

In the Middle Ages, the woman was seen as a symbol of temptation and lust and for this reason was seen by the church as a sort of enemy of christianity. The witch hunt was an example of this.

Guinevere was not an evil person, much less a succubus. She had endured an unhappy marriage because she truly desired the good of Britain and the people who lived there and she was willing to sacrifice herself for their future.
