Draco and I made our way to our usual compartment, sharing a look when we noticed Pansy Parkinson sitting across from Crabbe and Goyle. She was recounting the events of her summer, but the boys looked dreadfully bored, and frankly irritated.

"Draco!" Crabbe greeted excitedly. "Des! How was your summer?"

"Excuse me, I was telling you about my summer." Pansy whined. She turned and faced Draco, giving him a sickly sweet grin. "Hi, Draco."

"Parkinson." Draco nodded stiffly. He glanced at Crabbe and Goyle, making the pair sigh before sandwiching Pansy between them, giving up their seats for us.

"Thanks, boys." I smiled softly, taking Lucina's cage while Draco pushed our trunks up onto the storage shelf. "My summer was fine, thank you for asking. How were your summers?"

"Oh, brilliant!" Crabbe lit up. "Goyle here spent all summer with mum and I!"

"We spent most of it out with her, going to shops and whatnot." Goyle nodded excitedly. "But what about you two? Heard you had some fun at the Quidditch World Cup!"

"Fun is one word to describe it." Draco scoffed, moving Lucina so he could sit right beside me. "After the match was done, spells were flying down by the tents."

"Spells?" Crabbe asked.

"I heard the dark mark was conjured." Goyle shivered.

"The only thing I was worried about were the screams." Draco said quietly.

"It was haunting." I murmured, resting my head against Draco's shoulder. "The screams gave me nightmares for a while."

"Not to mention the mark in the sky" Draco added solemnly. I tensed at the thought, making Pansy perk right up and open her mouth.

"Finally find something to be scared of, Littlesea?" Pansy asked, teasing clear in her tone.

"Lay off, Parkinson." Draco huffed, reaching out and grabbing my hand. "The scene was enough to make anyone scared."

"So, what?" Pansy spat, glaring between Draco and I. "You spend one summer with one another and you're, what? Dating?"

"No, actually." Draco answered. "Mona and I are just friends."

"Sure you are." Pansy rolled her eyes. "Look at her, pressed all against you. Can she be any more desperate?"

"Pansy, Draco and I are friends." I sighed deeply. "I'm not pressed against him, I'm simply sitting beside him."

"Precisely." Draco agreed, raising an eyebrow at Pansy.

"What are you even doing here, Pansy?" Crabbe asked suddenly.

"I was your friend before you even met Littlesea!" Pansy shrieked. "Forgive me for trying to spend time with you lot!"

"Draco." I muttered, pulling my hand from his to rub my temples. "Please..."

"Shoo, Pansy." Goyle said, pulling open the compartment door and shoving her out into the hall. "Go bother Greengrass."

"Better?" Crabbe asked, slamming the compartment door shut.

"Much better." I nodded, attempting to make my headache pass.

"You alright, Des?" Goyle questioned.

"I'm alright." I responded, feeling the pain in my temples slowly ebb away. "Just a slight headache."

"Anything from the trolley?" The sweet cart woman asked the compartment. I shook my head with a polite smile, seeing as I had no money."

"Two packages of sour belts." Draco said, handing the woman some money. She gave him the sour belts and helped get Crabbe and Goyle just about everything else on the cart. Draco opened one of the packages before handing them to me.

"Thank you." I smiled softly, pulling apart the sour belts one strip at a time.

"You once told me these were the only thing that cures your headaches." Draco recalled with a proud grin. I nodded up at him, feeling the headache completely fade.

"Oh, yeah." Crabbe spoke, chewing through his chocolate frog.

"We got you something." Goyle smiled. I reached for another sour belt and looked at the duo with a confused expression.

"It's for your birthday, seeing as we missed it again." Crabbe clarified.

"You guys don't have to get me anything for my birthday." I told them, feeling guilty that they went through the trouble.

"We already got you something for your birthday." They chorused. Together, they pulled down one of their trunks and pushed it open. After digging through their items, both boys turned to me with a grin, each holding a box in their hands. One was slightly longer than the other, causing me to furrow my brow further.

"Here, open this one first." Crabbe said, handing me the longer box. I opened the velvet box and let out a soft gasp, admiring the silver charm bracelet that had a crab charm clipped to it."

"You really shouldn't have." I told him, trying to hand him the box. He rolled his eyes and took the box, gently plucking the bracelet from the box. He gently grabbed my arm and clipped the bracelet to my left wrist, smiling proudly as it sat perfectly around my wrist.

"Hush, Des." Crabbe shook his head, looking over at Goyle.

"Here you do." Goyle said, handing me the box in his hand excitedly. I opened it and pulled out the little gargoyle charm, clipping it right beside the crab charm.

"Come here." I told both boys, standing in front of them. They stood up and wrapped their arms around me. "My boys. Thank you."

"I have one too!" Draco called. I released the boys from the hug and sat back down beside Draco, grabbing the box he'd pulled from his pocket. I opened it and saw two charms resting in the velvet.

"The snake is because you're a Slytherin." Draco said, pulling the charm out of the box and clipping it onto the bracelet. He pulled the second charm out, clipping it beside the snake with a smug smile. "And the dragon is so you can remember who your best friend is."

I smiled up at him and gave him a hug, thanking him profusely through the fabric of his coat. I pulled away and looked at all three boys.

"You guys really didn't have to do this." I told them softly, playing with the bracelet. "I was content spending my birthday reading."

"Well, we don't want you content." Crabbe spat the word as if it were poison.

"We like you happy." Goyle added with a goofy smile.

"You three will be the death of me." I shook my head. I stood up from my seat and reached up toward my trunk, huffing slightly when I couldn't reach it.

"I'll get it." Draco laughed, easily bringing the trunk down for me.

"Thank you." I grinned, pulling out my uniform and robe.

"I'll put it back too. Once you're back." Draco teased.

"I'll be back in a minute." I rolled my eyes. "No one do anything stupid while I'm away."
