PHYSICIAN'S CHAMBERS
"Merlin!" Gains called.
"We need to give this to Arthur and Anne," Merlin said, handing Gaius the decorative canteens.
"What is it?"
"Water drawn from the Cup of Life. If Arthur and Anne drink from it, they will recover. Please hurry."
Gaius began to walk out, but stopped and faced Merlin.
"What are you waiting for?" Merlin asked.
"What price did you pay to redeem his life?" Gaius questioned. "Whose life did you bargain?!"
"We don't have time."
"Merlin!"
"Don't worry, Gaius! Everything's going to be all right."
Gaius and Merlin gave Arthur and Anne the water. Colette was sleeping in a chair nearby. Uther entered.
"What are you doing, physician?" It here asked. "What are you giving him?"
"It's a... It's a tincture made from the lobelia plant, an ancient remedy for poisonous bites," Gaius answered.
"A cure?"
"We hope."
"Do you really think it will have some effect?"
"It's our last resort, Sire. Perhaps you should allow them to rest."
"I will not leave him."
Gaius and Merlin exited. Uther sat by Arthur and Anne's bedside.
RED RIBBON CORRIDOR
Gaius and Merlin headed down the Red Ribbon Corridor. Morgana grabbed Merlin's arm and pulled him into an alcove.
"Please, Merlin, you and Colette must beware," Morgana warned. "This is only the beginning."
Merlin pulled away and continued down the corridor.
---
Gaius paced in Arthur's Chambers and Colette had gone to find her brother. Uther slept hunched over the bed. Arthur and Anne woke. Uther woke.
"Arthur. Anne," Uther called.
Arthur and Anne looked around and put their heads back down.
PHYSICIAN'S CHAMBERS
Gaius entered where Merlin was pacing. "The Prince and the Princess live."
Colette threw her arms around her brother and ran off.
ARTHUR'S CHAMBERS
"I thought we'd lost you two," Uther said.
"Don't worry, Father, Anne and I aren't going to die," Arthur reassured. "Anne and I think there's someone watching over us, keeping us from harm."
"Maybe you're right. On your long journey to become King, you will need a guardian angel. I shall inform the court that their Prince and their Princess live."
Gwen and Colette entered as Uther exited. Gwen put down the towels she was carrying and looked anxiously at Arthur and Anne. Arthur and Anne opened their eyes and turned to look at them. They smiled in relief.
Colette said, "I knew it. I said you'd be all right."
"I can remember you talking to me and Anne," Arthur said.
"You can?"
"You stroked my forehead."
"I was tending to your fevers."
