THE MONSTER AND THE SUPERHERO

Today both me and Jasper went to figure out some things about Hawkins history, back when all the stuff started in the lab.

But we unfortunately came to a dead end, so we made our way to where everyone else was, Jasper asking me a few questions while we were talking.

"So you're saying that this thing that killed Fred and Chrissy, it's from the upside down?" Nancy asked, "If the shoe fits." Steve added.

"Our working theory is that he attacks with a spell or a curse. Now whether or not he's doing the bidding of the mindflayer or he just loves killing teens, we don't know." Dustin explained.

"All we know is this is something different." Max said, "Something new." Nancy added.

"Doesn't make sense." I said, Dustin turned to me, "It's just a theory." He told me.

"No, Fred and Chrissy don't make sense." I said, "I mean, why them?"

"Maybe they were just in the wrong place. They were both at the game." Dustin said.

"And near the trailer park." Jasper added, "We're at the trailer park. Uh, should we maybe not be here?" Steve said.

"There is something about this place." Nancy said, "Fred started acting weird the second we got here."

"Acting weird as in...?" Robin trailed off, "Scared, on edge, upset." Nancy explained.

"(Y/n) said Chrissy was upset too." Jasper said, "Yeah, but not here. She was crying in the bathroom at school." I explained.

"Serial killers stalk their prey before they strike, right? So maybe Fred and Chrissy saw this vecman—"

"Vecna."

"Dunno about you guys, but if I saw some freaky wizard monster, I would mention it to someone."

"Maybe they did." Max said, i turned to him, "I saw Chrissy leaving Ms.Kelley's office. If you saw a monster, you...you wouldn't go to the police. They'd never believe you. But you might go to your—"

"Shrink." I finished, max locked eyes with me and nodded.

Jasper followed me inside of steve's car, I placed my seatbelt on as Steve started the car, then I looked over at max who looked away from me and out the window.

I really wish we could talk again, I missed talking to him.

"Okay, he's in." Steve said, I kept my eyes on my watch, staring ahead at nothing— Jasper looked over at me with a raised eyebrow.

"What?" I asked, he shrugged, I narrowed my eyes at him, "Don't do that." I spoke.

"Do what? I don't even know what I'm doing. what'd I do?" Jasper said jokingly, I chuckled to myself before looking at nothing again.

"You're thinking about him, aren't you?" Jasper asked, turning to me, "Well, I can't get him off my mind, so, yeah. I can understand why he distanced himself from me. He's going through something. And I was so selfish not to realize that. I was completely and utterly stupid. I regret everything I said to him. I'm so stupid, ugh." I muttered.

"It's alright. we're all stupid some times. in a good way, but yours was in a majorly stupid way." Jasper chuckled, I nodded and then saw max walking back towards the car, I scooted away from his spot and he got inside the car.

"What'd she say?" Steve asked, "Nothing, just drive." Max said.

"I—"

"Steve drive!"

"Okay."

"Dustin, (Y/n)?"

I heard someone say from the supercomm, "Lucas?" I said.

"Lucas? where the hell have you been?" Dustin asked, "Just listen." Lucas said.

"Are you guys looking for Eddie?" He asked, "We found him, no thanks to you." Dustin answered.

"You found him?"

"A boathouse on coal mill road. Don't worry. He's safe."

"You guys know he killed Chrissy, right?"

"That's bullshit. Eddie tried to save Chrissy."

"Then why do all the cops say he did it?"

Max got up from his spot and grabbed the supercomm.

"Lucas, you're so behind it's ridiculous, okay? Just meet us at school. We'll explain later." He said.

"I...I can't. I think some real bad shit's about to go down." Lucas said, "What are you talking about? what bad shit?" Max asked.

Then there was static, I grabbed the supercomm, "Lucas? Lucas?" I said, no response.
