Y/N and Scarlett sat in the front seat of their car, staring at the massive academy surrounding them. They were in a small paved circle at the front entrance, having just pulled in. The buildings were in a Victorian-Gothic style, elaborately decorated and deeply dramatic. It didn't help that the day was cloudy, causing a slight blue wash to the campus.

"Okay... I love the aesthetic," Y/N remarked, causing Scarlett to chuckle.

"Yeah, it's even prettier inside. Plus... I put in a few calls and got you a single dorm in the clock tower."

"For real?" Y/N smiled, whipping to look at her mom, "That's so sweet!"

"Uh-huh. I'll help you decorate it, too -- oh shit, there's the Headmaster!" Scarlett whisper-yelled, opening her car door and getting out. Y/N did the same, finding herself face-to-face with a tall, white haired women. She could tell that the headmaster was a shapeshifter.

She was also hit with an unexpected and overwhelming surge unlike any before. She fell back on the car, half-way collapsing until her mother caught her and pulled her up.

"Is she alright?" The women asked in a concerned voice.

"Y/N is just fine -- it's one of her strange abilities, she feels everyone's life force, so being in new places with new people -- it's just overwhelming," Scarlett sped through an explanation.

"Well, my name is Principal Weems," She began speaking as Y/N stood up, straightening herself out as she regained energy, "I'm here to formally introduce you to Nevermore." Principal Weems stood with a certain air of poshness, "Could I bring you to my office? I'll have someone handle your luggage."

Scarlett agreed, and the two followed Weems through the building. Y/N was still awkwardly leaning on her mother for support, which was difficult because she was much taller than Scarlett. She was able to begin walking on her own just as they reached Weem's office.

"Please, sit," Weems motioned to two chairs on one side of her desk as she sat down, "So, Y/N, your mother has filled me in a bit on your situation. You truly have no idea what you are?"

"No, ma'am, I don't. I know my paternal grandmother was most likely the same sort as me, but she isn't around for me to ask and I've never met anyone whose even heard of my side effects," Y/N explained, leaning back in her chair.

"Well, we will do all we can to help you discover your identity. In the meantime, life at Nevermore, I am confident, will suit you well. To start, I've ordered you a uniform--"

"Pants or skirt?" Y/N asked.

"Skirt," Weems answered, clearly a bit off put with Y/N's interruption.

"Can I get pants?"

Weems nodded, "Of course. You may make other minimal alterations to the uniform, but you will wear it during class. You've been given a single dorm on the top of East Clock Tower, per your mother's request, but will be marked as a part of Ophelia Hall, the dorm house connected to the tower. On weekends and after school you may venture into Jericho's downtown, but only with teacher permission. You will be given a student handbook and must adhere to the rules laid out within it. You may walk the grounds at any time of day or night, except on full moons, when non-werewolf students are advised to stay indoors. Any questions?"

"No ma'am, not yet."

"Okay, you may follow me to your dormitory," Weems stood, prompting the Priest women to follow suit. Weems led them out the primary building and through a heptagonal courtyard where Y/N attracted many stares, and they entered Ophelia Hall. They through an old, green door and up a spiraling staircase until they hit a second (newer) door.
