The Dormouse tried to pick the lock to the chain around Hatter's ankle with her hatpin but it was no use. Helaena marched in holding up the sword. She felt confident and brave, fearless. She could do anything now. She believed that.
"Stand back, Mally." Helaena demanded. The Dormouse and the Hatter looked up to see Helaena victoriously holding the Vorpal Sword high over her head. Hatter knew she could do it, he believed in her completely.
"How's this for "muchness"?" Helaena offered. She brought the sword toward the chain but Hatter screamed out.
"Stop! It mustn't be used for anything but..." Hatter began as Knave strode in with his Knights. She didnt understand, she was going to save him. she came all this way, she wasnt about to leave him now. Knave pointed to Helaena.
''Arrest that girl for unlawful seduction." Knave demanded.
"What?" Helaena countered confused.
"Hatter!" Mally the mouse hissed as she tossed the Hatter the decorative sword from the hall. He fought with Knave. Hatter was formidable even chained. Mally stabbed the Knights with her hatpin, Helaena swung the Sword yet again but before she hit anything Hatter begged her again.
"No!" Hatter begged. "Take it to the White Queen!"
"I'm not leaving without you!" Helaena countered. "I came all this way to save your crazy ass. I'm not leaving without you."
"Helaena! Go!" Mally declared and Knave stopped, a smirk on his face. He looked at Helaena with sudden revelation.
"Helaena you say?" Knave questioned happily.
"RUN!" Hatter and Mally declared and she ran.
"SEIZE HER!" Knave demanded.
She burst out the back, looking for an escape route. Knave and the Knights just behind them, she could hear the thumb of their boots. She ran, dodging Knights but soon she was surrounded. She swung the sword around to keep them back. She was going to lose her head, she would never save the hatter or wonderland. She was going to die here and now.
"Helaena. Of course! Why didn't I see it? Well, it has been a long time. And you were such a little tyke then. Give me the Sword." Knave demanded.
" Stay back!" Helaena demanded her bravery faltering with every knight that charged towards her. All her courage and strength and she was slipping back to her real world, her life of being bossed around, no control over her future.
"The Queen will be so pleased. She'll take great pleasure in taking off your head. I believe she wants to do the deed herself." Knave remarked as she was grabbed from behind the sword teetered in her grasp as she tried and failed to break free of the red knights. But the knights faltered hearing a deep thunderous roar.
A smile curved Helaena's face as the Bandersnatch ran at them, biting and snapping. They released Helaena and backed away. The Bandersnatch lowered his head for her to climb onto his back. Helaena let out a sob of joy as she climbed up. She was safe, but what of her friends, the hatter? Knave and the Knights astonished.
"Downal wyth Bluddy Behg Hid!" Helaena demanded, she hadnt a clue what she was saying but it sounded right to her as they took off.
Helaena and the Bandersnatch approach the open drawbridge. The Knights abandoned their post moving away for her, fear coursing through them. Bayard waited on nearby hill. He saw the Bandersnatch with Helaena on his back. He ran out to meet them.
"Hey-oh, Helaena!" Bayard the bloodhound declared.
"Bayard! To Marmoreal!" Helaena declared as he led the way toward the White Queen's Castle. The drawbridge lowered for them.
She was going to deliver the sword and the white queen would know what to do. When she woke up she would feel accomplished that she saved the day and got the white queen her sword back. The white queen could surely save hatter, maybe Helaena could say goodbye before she woke up to, wouldnt that just be wonderful.
The White Queen's castle was light and airy in contrast to the oppression of her sister the red queens castle. She sat on her throne, a knights uniform stood upright, in a prominent position at the doors as she waited for Helaena.
Helaena looked to the giant doors leading to the throne room. She gripped the sword tight before she pushed the doors open and entered carrying the Vorpal Sword confidently.
"Welcome to Marmoreal." The white queen announced as she moved to greet Helaena.
