Noel's POV:

War. It's all I've known since I was 18. Four and a half years of gun fire and bombing. It never stops. I go to sleep to gunfire in the distance. I've accustomed to it.

Now it's like a weird lullaby. I guess that's all of ours. "GRENADE!" I yell out pulling the pin out and tossing it towards our enemies.

It blows up and we hear loud screaming. "Cover me!" I tell Davidson who nods and he leans up, firing his weapon as I run over to a fallen soldier that got shot on the leg.

I pull out a pad and gauze then wrap it his wound. "This is gonna hurt," I warn before tying it tightly to stop his bleeding.

He screams out crying, "I'm gonna die! I don't wanna die, Captain Dixon!" I flinch at his screaming and the gun fire before slapping him then grabbed his face to look at me.

"Listen to me, Private! You're not gonna die! You hear me?!" I yell in his face making sure he knows I mean business.

His eyes widen and he frantically nods making me let go of him. "Now cover me, Private Wyatt. There's only two shooters now," I tell him and he nods with a wince while turning on his knees with his weapon clutched in his hands.

I count down from three with my fingers before Wyatt begins shooting and I sneak around the barrier towards the side.

As I get closer my heart begins to beat fast. It's the adrenaline rising. I quickly move behind our enemies barrier and began firing, killing an Iran soldier.

One down, one more to go. I grunt slightly as a bullet grazed my left arm and I began firing in the direction it came from.

A man falls to the ground with an AK in his hand. He's not moving so I cautiously walk over with my gun aimed on him.

I turn him over with my foot and kick away the AK just in case. His eyes are open but there's no life in them so I back away.

"He's down!" I call out moving away from the body and towards my team where they've gathered next to Private Wyatt.

"Delta team B are gonna sweep the building. The evac are coming to get us," my friend and second in command Xander Davidson informs me.

I nod and we help Private Wyatt up so that he can lean against the boulder. "You alright, Private?" I question while looking him over.

"Yes ma'am. Thanks for the slap and wrapping my wound," he responds wincing and holds onto his wounded leg as he shifts his weight onto his other one.

I chuckle, "sorry about that, Private. I just did what needed to be done to make sure everyone survives and gets to go home."

He smiles and waves me off, "no need for apologies Captain. I needed that. It was my first time getting shot so I was kinda scared and wigged out." I nod with a chuckle and pat his shoulder before moving away.

"Did you get shot, Cap?" Davidson questions tugging gently on my sleeve and I twist my arm to get a better look at it.

Blood's leaking through my uniform slightly and I sigh with a shrug. "It's just a graze. I got it when the last guy caught me by surprise but I'm alright," I explain and he nods.

The familiar sounds of the propellers from the helicopters brought all of our attentions to the sky, seeing three helicopters heading our way.

"There's the evac team," Davidson announces watching the choppers land in the field open field. I let my gun hang from the strap and move to Private Wyatt's left side and wrap his arm around my shoulder.
