034. Just Stay With Me.

     

     VAL JUST kept watching Brenner tattoo a squirming Henry when he finished up, wiping away at the tattoo. "All done." He says and the boy finally looks at him. "Not so bad, was it? See? There's nothing to be afraid of. Is there, Valerie?" At the mention of her name in this so called memory, Valerie tensed.

The man turns his head, "why don't you take a seat?" His voice becomes distorted and Val runs out of the room, entering the hallway to see the lights all flickering, dead bodies and blood everywhere. "No," she whispered quietly then she ran off, the other hallway.

"Val! Just stay with me, please!" Robin pleaded as she cups Val's face in her hands again before turning to the gate. "Whatever you guys are doing up there, hurry up!" She shouted to Erica who ran off to Eddie's room. "Robin says you need to hurry!" She entered the room where Dustin and Lucas are digging through Eddie's things. "Yeah? No shit!" Dustin shouted over his shoulder at the younger teen.

"We're trying. We can't find anything!" Max said as she turned around, standing by Nancy. "Seriously, what is all this shit?" The Wheeler girl asked Eddie who walked over, holding more tapes. "I mean, what are you even looking for?" He asked, looking at Steve on the bed who's looking through the tapes. "Madonna, Blondie, Bowie, Beatles? Music! We need music!" Steve shouted as he looked up. "This is music!" Eddie shrieked at him, holding up a tape of Iron Maiden.

Val reaches a dead end where the door is boarded up so she grabs onto one, trying to pry it off as best as she can. "Son of a bitch!" She says as she finally got one off. "Valerie." At the sound of Vecna, she froze and glanced over to see him walking towards her.

"What are you doing? It's not time for you to leave." He says and she quickly turns around. "Oh, I think it is, weirdo." She said as she rushed to pull off more of the plywood. She got down to the last two as Vecna spoke, "now that you've seen where I've been... I would like very much to show you where I am going." He said as she finally got the bottom one off before bursting through the two doors.

Only to end up in the same room she started in, turning to the left to see Brenner. "Take a seat, Valerie." He demands and just like that, Valerie is in the chair with tentacles holding her down. "No! No, no, no!" She tried to fight them off but it was no use, she's weak. She feels weak. She looks over to see Vecna walking towards her. She stops struggling as he got closer, towering over her. "I... want you to tell Eleven. I want you to tell her everything you see." He said as he raised his hand slowly.

He raised his hand above her face as the flashes began, gates opening up, "no!" She screamed. The clock chiming three times, the gates all connecting, Steve, Robin, Nancy and the kids all in danger, "tell her..." "No!" Valerie gasped awake, falling back but Robin was there to catch her, holding her shoulders and a hand underneath her head.

"I got you, I got you, it's okay, it's okay." Robin cooed as Valerie panicked, panting with her eyes frantically searching around before they meet with her girlfriend's. "Robin," she said quietly, tears in her eyes and Robin pulls her in close, "it's okay. You're okay." She said comfortingly as Val cried in her arms.

The moment they passed through the gate, Steve rushed out first and wrapped his arms around her small frame, lifting her up a bit as she hugged back tightly. "Are you okay?" He asked the moment he pulled back and she nods. "Yeah. I'm okay..." She whispers as she looks to the others and Dustin was next to come over and hug her tightly, eventually the other kids got their own hug each from her and Nancy suggested they go over to Max's, considering Eddie's trailer was a murder site and Eddie was still wanted for said murder.

At Max's, Val asked to go to the washroom and in there, she let it out, sobbing as she covered her face, holding a hand firmly over her mouth so she wouldn't be heard by the others all waiting for her in the livingroom. She stopped quickly when a knock came at the door, taking a deep breath as she then quickly wiped away her tears, "yeah?" She called out. "It's me, Robin... can I come in?" The taller girl on the other side asked, crossing her arms.

Val opened the door just the slightest and Robin slipped through, shutting it behind her before turning to the shorter girl who glanced up at her with glossy eyes. "I was so scared that I was gonna lose you, Val..." Robin whispered and Val stood onto her tippytoes, wrapping her arms around her girlfriend's neck which caused the older to hug back instantly, closing her eyes as she sighed.

"You didn't lose me." Valerie whispers, her hand at the back of Robin's head as her fingers tangle in the blonde loose curls. "I was so scared." Robin says in a shaky voice and Val nods. "I know. I was too." She says sympathetically and Robin squeezed her tighter. "You're okay though, right?" Robin pulled back, raising her hand to either sides of Valerie's face and the shorter's bottom lip quivers slightly, but she just nods. "Yeah."

"Don't lie to me." Robin whispers and then Valerie looks up into her eyes, into those warm blue eyes staring back at her. "I--I'm not okay. But I will be, because I always am, you know?" She says, forcing a smile and Robin sighed, stepping closer before putting their foreheads together. "I just wish I could protect you from all bad things." She whispered.

"I feel the same way about you." Val sighs, raising a hand to cup Robin's cheek, brushing her thumb over her cheekbone before leaning up, connecting their lips for a moment. She pulls back, "I love you," she murmurs and Robin smiles softly. "I love you more." She whispers, leaning back in for another kiss. Val kissed back passionately, her arms wrapping around Robin's neck as she stood up on her tippytoes. Robin's back pressed against the door which made them pull back pretty quickly.

Both girls pause before they look at one another and start giggling. "Okay. I was supposed to just come and see if you were fine. And you are, like so fine." Robin says and Val chuckled, staring up at her. "So... are you ready to come and talk to us?" She asked, her right hand gently pushing Valerie's curls back, tucking a few strands behind her ear as the girl nods. "Yeah... I'm ready. Let's go..."
