016. I Like You.

      

     AT SOME point, Valerie leans closer to Robin. "I'm thirsty." She whispers and Robin sighs. "Come on." She got up and Valerie walks with Robin out of the theatres where the blonde shows her to the water fountain.

She kept drinking and drinking as Robin just stood there. "Hey, are you feeling okay?" The taller girl asked and Valerie chokes on the water, holding a hand to her mouth. "Jesus! You okay?" Robin grabs her shoulder and Valerie runs off so Robin rushed after her.

In the washroom, Valerie runs into the stall and began puking. Robin didn't hesitate to be there by her side, holding her hair back and out of her way. "That's okay, Val... let it all out." Robin rubs her back and Valerie just kept puking until she stopped, groaning softly.

"You good now?" Robin chuckles, flushing the toilet. "God, I hate that you have to see me like this." Valerie sighs, covering her face and hiding it into her knees she had brought up to her chest. "Like what?" Robin asked, sitting down in front of her and Valerie shrugs.

"Like... all gross and vomiting?" She chuckled softly and Robin just nudged her knee against Valerie's. "It's okay... I mean, I held your hair back." She says and Valerie chuckles softly before peaking up at the other girl.

"Still... it's a little embarrassing." She says and Robin raises her brows. "Why? It's... normal." She says and Valerie sighs, glancing away. "You know, I think you're smart, like really smart, Rob... but you can't catch a hint, and you're a little oblivious to obvious things. I didn't come to Scoops everyday for Steve... And at the point I'm at... I feel like you're messing with me." Valerie said it all very truthfully.

Then she let out a soft sigh, looking away. "What?" Robin softly chuckled and Valerie looks over at her. "I like you, Robin. Like a lot. And not like in the way you think. In a way I think you don't feel the same." The brunette sighs, looking away. "And maybe I just need to get over that and, like, move on or---" "I like you too." Robin immediately cut her off.

Valerie looks at her right away, her cheeks heating up. "R-Really?" She says and Robin nods. "Yeah... I-I just thought you and Steve--" "No. There's no me and Steve... he's my best friend." Valerie says and Robin smiles, glancing away. "Cool." She says and Valerie can't help the giddy grin spread across her face.

"Cool..."

"I just... haven't said anything because, you know..." Valerie sighed, slumping down her shoulders and glancing away. "It's hard to know for sure without asking?" Robin says and Val simply nodded her head, smiling. "You get it..." She says and Robin nods softly. "Yeah, of course, I do..." She's closer now.

Valerie gets nervous, staring at Robin who just stared at her, smiling. Valerie reached out, holding her hand out and Robin stared at her hand for a moment then put her hand into it. Valerie smiles even more, her cheeks feel warmer and her thumb brushes against the back of Robin's hand as she admired the bracelets on the blonde's wrist, and the painted nails with the ring on her middle finger.

She especially liked her necklaces, glancing to her neck. "I really... like you. I don't like I ever liked anyone as much as I like you, Rob." Valerie whispered, glancing up at the blonde who's staring at her, smiling faintly.

"Same here..."

The door to the bathroom burst open. "Okay, what the hell?" Dustin says and Valerie quickly pulled her hand back away from Robin's, taken back. "Oh, hey." She says and Robin stood up too. "Steve puked in the theatre so now we have to leave with the other people leaving the theatre." Dustin ushered them.

Valerie glanced at Robin on their way out and smiled softly, blushing a bit. "And..." Dustin trails off, keeping the door slightly open. "Blend." He opens the door more wider for them and they all rushed out of the bathroom, joining the others as Valerie walks between Robin and Steve right behind Erica and Dustin.

"Well, shit, that worked."

"Of course, it worked. Now we just have to get on the bus with the rest of these plebes, and home sweet home, here we come." While Dustin was talking and they were walking with the crowd, Valerie noticed Riley Kingston ahead, walking with two of her friends.

She kept glancing over, looking confused and maybe because Steve was beaten up. But Valerie looks away, walking closer to Robin. "Uh, Dustin? About that..." She says and Dustin glanced back at them. "What?"

"Yeah, we might not wanna go to your house." Steve says, looking at the fourteen year old. "Why?" The younger boy asked. "Because this dingus told them your full name." Valerie says, nodding to Steve beside her.

"What is wrong with you?" Dustin whispered to Steve who glanced over. "Dude, I was drugged." He defends himself. "So?" The curly headed boy responds with. "So?" Steve says, confused. "So, you resist. You tough it out. You tough it out like a man." Dustin looks at him.

"Oh, yeah, that's easy for you to say." Steve says sassily right back. "Guys?" Robin says, grabbing Valerie's arm gently before he stops the others. Up ahead, a couple of guards were stopping people leaving the mall and searching through their belongings. "Abort."

When the man turns his head to look at them, Dustin repeats himself and turns to them before they begin running, Robin holding tightly onto Valerie's hand in hers. "Shit." Robin says when they stop at the escalator but then Valerie gets between the two sides and slides down in the middle, Robin and the other three following right behind them pretty quickly. They run to hide which ended up being behind the counter of a fast food restaurant.

While hiding, Robin still had Valerie's hand in hers, her breathing unsteady and looking at the curly haired girl by her. Valerie can hear the Russian men get closer and closer as she stared into Robin's eyes, wishing just one thing she had done before this moment that might end up with them possibly killed: I should've kissed her when I had the chance to.

But someone came to their rescue.

+ i have prewritten this book all the way to the end and now i'm excited to start working on my other books, three books about the fear street trilogy and also my jj fic and then next after that is my kie fic (both obx fics)
