Chapter 15

After the raid, I was given a bit of time off. "Ari." I heard my name be called as I absently stirred my coffee. My head was still reeling. I wasn't fully there mentally and emotionally when I got back from the raid, and Dabi stayed with me until he was called away on his own mission. 

(*Flashback*)

I stumbled into my apartment after being in the hospital for a few days. Dabi was pacing the floor until he looked up. "Oh my god Doll." He said as he engulfed me in a hug. That broke the dam of feelings I had been holding since Nighteye died. "Dolly." He whispered stroking my hair. He may have been an emotionless prick but he knew I needed to feel my feelings to function so he just held me while I cried. For the next few days I was a shell of a person but I was slowly coming back. Dabi was more...I guess emotional then normal showing me TLC which I wasn't ready for. "Doll?" He said. I looked up. He turned towards the warpgate that I didn't even notice opened. "I gotta-" "Go...just go." I whispered. He kissed my forehead and jumped into the warpgate as soon as it appeared it disappeared. 

(*End of Flashback*)

He hadn't been back in a few days and I found out why when I checked the news. The prohero Snatch was killed by villains...I saw the blue flames knowing my boyfriend was behind it. I sighed. I didn't know Snatch very well, he was one of the heroes I worked with very seldom when it came to the work studies and internships I did. I turned off the news and laid on my back. "Ari!" My aunt once again called and I shot up. "WHAT?" I said. Her whip shot out and I grabbed it mid air. "Your reflexes are back." She said feeling my temperature. "You know your dad wants you to meet the little girl." She said. "Eri?" I asked. She nodded. It wasn't her fault Nighteye died. I remember the scared look in her eyes when she saw how bad her "family" had beat the shit out of me. "She said there was a pretty girl with a hood on her head. She wanted to see you." Midnight said. 

               I stood up and looked at my hero costume. "I can go now." I said, I went to get dressed and my aunt looked at me. She kissed my forehead. "Come with me. I don't want to go alone." I said. "You know I can't do that. Besides I'll stay here and keep your house clean." She said. I nodded my head and hugged her again. I walked out and flew to the hospital. Mirio and Midoriya were waiting with my dad. They hugged me. "Mirio. How are you feeling?" I asked hugging him back. "I'm doing my best." He said in a cheery tone. He wasn't going to let Nighteye's death make bring him down and I admired that so much about him. "Midoriya?" "A lot of things that have to due with the Festival." He said. I smiled and looked at the basket. "What's that?" I asked. "Oh! They're fruits for Eri." He said. I smiled. "She'll love them." I said. As we began walking to the room my dad pulled me aside. "I was wondering if you wanted to take her in?" He asked me. "What? Me?" I said. "Why not? You have all the quirks. To stop her if needed. "Shota I don't know." I said shrugging. "Sleep on it." He said as we neared the room. The girl was sitting up and she looked at Mirio and Midoriya. Her eyes then landed on me. I walked toward her. "Hello Eri. I'm Replica. This is Lemillion and Deku. We're a few of the heroes that helped you darling." I said. I reached my hand out. She took it and saw the bandaging under my sleeves. "You all got hurt. Lemillion lost his quirk. All because of me." She said. "No sweetie. It was all his fault." "There was a man with glasses. He got hurt too." She said and my breath hitched. We can't tell her about Mirai's death...it would kill her. "I'm sorry." She said crying. I hugged her. "Shhh. You didn't do this." I said. "Yeah dry those tears and let's see that smile!" Mirio chimed in finally. the little girl looked at us confused. "You know. A smile!" Deku said. "Like this." I demonstrated. She looked at us and then tried to force herself. "I'm sorry. I don't know how to smile." she said. My world came crashing down and my heart broke. I thought and I smiled. "Why don't you two invite her to the festival later?" I asked. "Are you going to be there Miss Aratani?" Deku asked. "Of course! I can't wait to see what Class 1-A comes up with! I'm cleared to teach again." I said with a smile. Deku smiled back. When the boys left I stayed behind. "So...my father says that you wanted to see me?" I asked her. She nodded. "What's up sweetpea?" I asked her sitting on her bed with her in my lap. "I wanted to say thank you for helping Deku when my quirk was activated." She said. I smiled. "Anything for you sweetheart." I said hugging her. "So my dad came up with this idea. While my boyfriend is away, how would you like to stay with me and live in my apartment." I said. She nodded. I smiled. "I'll let my boyfriend now that's what's going to happen." I said. She yawned. "Well it's been a long day for you but you'll be cleared from the hospital soon. I'll make sure you're okay to come home with me. You'll stay in my room okay?" I said. She nodded shyly. I kissed her forehead and walked out to my father. "Alright, I'll take her in." I said. He nodded and patted my back. "Well I should get home and get my house ready." I said creating a warp gate. "Impressive." Aizawa said. I smiled and walked through shutting it. I turned and gasped. My boyfriend was standing in front of me with blood on his face. "What happened?" I asked. 

       "Little dispute with Spinner for calling him "lizard". I don't see the deal he is one." I said to him. "Little?! Dabi this isn't little!" I said. I grabbed his arm and sat him in the kitchen. As I began cleaning his wound he looked at my face. "You're trying to tell me something." I said to him. "Nothing gets by you." I responded. He grabbed my chin and placed a kiss on my lips and I kissed back. "Tell me." He said and I smiled. "The little girl we saved from Overhaul; I was asked to take her in." I said. He looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "Are you capable of taking care of a kid." "You know if you weren't living with me, I'd be at the dorms taking care of the kids." I said to him wrapping his wound. "Yeah true." "Besides. I am financially stable enough to take care of all three of us." I said to him. He nodded silently. "So-" "I know about Snatch. He was a good man." I cut him off. "I don't doubt that." "He was also a husband and father." I added. "I don't doubt that either." He said. I finished bandaging him. "You know how horrible that is?" I asked him. "I know damnit!" He snapped getting up. I stood up and looked at him. "Fuck! You heroes and your morality!" He said. "Tell me-" "Yes. Yes I noticed. Yes I felt it. Imagining if it was you. The hero I fell for." He said holding my face in his hands. "I'm a monster." "I didn't say that." "Then what is it?" He asked. I caressed his cheek and kissed his lips. "I didn't know Snatch personally. But I feel for his wife and child. Imagine if it was Aizawa, or your parents." "I wouldn't care if it was my dad." He said. I cocked my head to the side. "You don't talk about your family often." I said as we sat on the couch. "So?" He said. I held his hand. 

"Tell me about them."
