Chapter 15.

"If it were easy, everybody would do it."-Unknown

"So let me get this straight. You want me to play strip basketball?"I heard Jaxon ask from behind me. I reached for the ball, then threw it at him.

"That's exactly what I am asking. I'll even let you have the ball first." He tossed the ball from hand to hand.

"It's in the middle of February."

"It's also fifty degrees."

He sighed then nodded his head.

"Fine. If I win I get to read your essay."

"And if I win you take me to prom." I smiled a wide smile. He rolled his eyes, but eventually cracked a smile. This was going to be fun. Probably more fun for me than for him.

"Every time one of us makes a point, the other person strips. If you make a three you take of two items." He let out an unnecessary chuckle.

"I've played before; you don't have to explain it to me."

I looked down at the ground. I didn't really like the idea of him stripping for someone else, but wasn't surprised that he had already played before. He was, dare me to say it, the 'player' of Putnam County.

"Check." He said, throwing the ball my direction. I caught it, then bounced it to him.

"I hope you like being naked." I said, cockily.

"Not as much as you're going to like it."

"Keep dreaming."

"Why do you even want to read my essay?" I said, refocusing the subject away from being naked. He slightly slugged his shoulders.

"I want to read the genius of Sam Shoey!" His shouted, the sound of his voice echoing in the near by trees.

"I'm sure it's not that great. I was practically half asleep when I wrote it."

"I'm sure its terrible, you know since it won an award." He sarcastically answered.

"You're probably right." I mumbled.

I had to win. There was no way in hell that he was getting his hands on that essay. I just didn't want him reading it. No one had ever read any of my works besides Ms.Cooper.

And there was no way in hell that I was going to my senior prom with someone else. It just wasn't going to happen. I was surprised that he even agreed to play considering the outcome if I won, since he was so set on not going to prom with me.

I got into a defensive stance, ready for him to make a move to the basket, but instead he pulled up for a jumper. The ball barely rolled over the top of the rim, but it went in.

He cleared his throat.

"I'm getting to it." I said. I took my headband of, then shot it into the grass.

"I was hoping you'd start by taking off your shirt."

"Still dreaming." I quietly laughed.

We checked the ball, then I quickly shot where I was standing. I swished the three. I cleared my throat like he had.

"Strip baby boy!" I said, my face inches from his.

He took off his hoodie, then his shirt next. I stopped dribbling the ball, and just stared. His muscular body was perfect in every single way. He had a short light brown treasure trail leading up a few inches of his stomach. His abs were easily detectable, as were his biceps.

"Nice choice." I grinned.

"I'm pretty hot."

"Eh." I replied, successfully keeping a straight face. He began laughing.

"I think I'm gunna dunk on this one."

"You can't dunk on me." I stated.

He raised an eyebrow.

"And why is that?"

"You honestly think that you can dunk on me? I'm like seven foot tall."

"Now you're the one dreaming."

I shook my head.

"Fine try it." I encouraged him.

"You asked for it."

He took the ball from my hands, then stood at the top of the key. He began to dribble in. I waited till he had beat me on the dribble to jump on his back. He let out a 'Huh' sound, but went up for the dunk anyway.

"How did you do that? I was sure that was going to work."

"You do realize that you weigh like twenty pounds?" I was still staring at him wide-eyed.

I began to take off my hoodie, feeling the cool air on my skin.

"I was getting a little hot anyway."

-----------------------------------------------------------

"Getting cold yet?" I asked a shivering Jaxon.

"Never been better." He replied through chattering teeth.

All the clothes he had left were his underwear. I still had a bra, underwear, and a sock. He had scored more points than me, but I had way more clothes on.

"If I make this shot I win." I simply stated.

"I know."

I quickly shot the ball, swishing it. He dropped his head as he saw the ball go in.

"That will be one pair of panties."

He reluctantly bent down and dropped his green underwear. I looked away before I could see anything.

"You know, you drive me insane. I had it all planned out how I was going to ask you. I was going to ask you over the intercom on Friday during morning announcements." I turned around, glad to see he was holding a basketball between his legs.

"If you had it all planned, why did you agree that if I won you would take me?" He hesitated to answer me.

"Well because I thought I was going to win. I didn't realize that a girl could wear so many clothes at once."

"I didn't have that much on."

"You had on two pairs of socks."

"So is this an invitation now?"

"I would be honored to take you to prom." He cracked a smile.

I really wanted to hug him, but he was completely naked. But something inside of me was telling me to wait a few minutes for him to acquire a pair of pants.

"You deserve a hug." I smiled, he returned it.

"Let's wait till I get some pants on."

He began to laugh, a wide toothy grin on his face.

"Hi Jaxon." A woman's voice said.

We both turned around, the same look on our faces.

My mother was shielding her eyes, walking towards the front door. I realized then that my mother had just witnessed the sight of Jaxon's bare butt. His pale, naked butt.

"Hi Mrs. Shoey."
