Chapter 20

Pain pain go away
Because of you I'm led astray.

"Can you just summarize everything so I can wrap my head around it?" Nina said and I rolled my eyes, this was the 3rd time she was asking me to summarize.

"While I was unconscious, I had a dream, I saw my mum and my brother, Mr Lucas killed them both and left me in a state of fear and confusion. Now I want to go back to the institute to get answers from him" I said in one breath.

"Do you have a plan on how to get in?" Damien asked

"No"

"I can help, I've been there before" Andre said

"No" I snapped "You going back to Mr Lucas is more than dangerous" I said

"So what are we going to do?" Nina asked

"Not we, ME, I just need you guys to get me discharged" I said and looked at all three of them

"Have you recovered? Can you even walk?" Nina asked worriedly

I let out a long sigh then attempted to get off the hospital bed, my legs felt wobbly the instant my feet came in contact with the floor and my now stitched wound stung.

"Yes, I can walk" I lied

"Take two steps towards us then" Damien said in doubt and I had never felt like punching him more.

"Easy" I tried taking one step and a wave of dizziness hit me followed by a terrible headache, I felt myself falling down but my body couldn't move as fast as before. I crashed into something hard and it took me seconds to realize it was Andre's arms I fell into.

"Be careful, let's get you back to bed" he said with his soft smile. His emerald green eyes putting me in a daze.

"Yeah you can definitely go to the institute on your own" Damien said sarcastically

Andre led me back to the bed and tucked me in like a child.

"I'm going to go see the doctor" Damien said and left the room, he looked a little upset for some reason.

"Uhhhh, I'm going to check on Bella at the vet" Nina said awkwardly before leaving. It was only I and Andre in the room now.

He looked away from me and began to awkwardly pace around the room.

"Andre" I called out and he turned to face me, I signaled him to sit on the bed and he did, I sat up and smiled at him

"Is there something you ne-"

I wrapped my arms around his neck and gave him a hug, I felt his body tense up like he didn't know how to react.

"Uh...a-are you good?" He stuttered trying to pull out of the hug but I just made it tighter.

"I'm cold" I said and snuggled into him

"I can put off the Air conditioners" he said and I shook my head.

"No, let's just stay like this for some minutes.....please" I said and he stayed quiet but he didn't hug me back.

It felt so nice to be this close to him. It's funny how a few months ago we fought a life or death battle. I don't know what it is that attracts me to Andre so much, I can't even explain it.

"Did it hurt a lot?" He finally spoke

"What?"

"The bullet you took for me?" He asked and I understood he was talking about when Mr Lucas shot me.
