Chapter 22

Ahora o nunca

16's POV

When I got back to the apartment, Andre dressed my wounds and served me pizza. After that I decided to tell them about everything that happened at the institute, everything except how my ex comrades almost killed me of course.

"So you risked your life for a boy you don't even know?" Damien asked

"That boy is my brother and his name is Anthony Perez" I glared

"And how's that gonna help you find him?"

"I...I don't know" I admitted

"Anthony Perez? That name sounds oddly familiar" Nina said and stroked her chin

"Now that you mention it, it actually sounds quite familiar" Andre added

We stayed in silence for a minute before Nina stood up excitedly.

"Anthony Perez! From 'Taste with me, Anthony', that cooking show" she smiled

"Ah that's right!" Andre smiled back

"Who the hell is that?" I asked irritated that they were getting distracted

"He's a popular chef"

"Can I see a picture?" I asked with hope and Nina took out her phone and searched up his name, seconds later images popped up on her screen.

I snatched her phone away from her and zoomed into one of the photos. It was undoubtedly him, it was my brother

"It's him" I stated

"Are you sure?" Andre asked and I nodded

"This is ridiculous, how can you determine that he's the boy your looking for from a few pictures?" Damien asked and ran his hands through his hair annoyed.

"The same way I recognized Andre after so many years, the eyes, everything else about a person can change but the eyes remain the same." I said not taking my eyes off the phone.

"How can I find him?"

"He travels all around the world for his work, so we don't really know" Nina said and I scoffed

"I heard he worked at EFC for 3 years, maybe some of his ex co workers could know how to find him" Damien said and I smiled

"Let's go there now!"

"No" Damien reprimanded, "you need to rest"

"Rest?"

"Yes, besides your still injured, we'll go tomorrow"  I glared at him, I knew that.

"You'll stay at Nina's apartment until...."

"No!" I yelled interrupting Damien

"No?"

"I want to stay with Andre" I said and locked my arms with him

"You can't, we only have two beds" Damien breathed

"I'll sleep with Andre" I stated and Andre began to cough nervously causing Damien to glare harder

"Come on 16, it'll be fun to be roommates and plus my aunty makes sweets" Nina said trying to persuade me

"I want to sleep with Andre" I repeated and tightened my grip on his hand

"Your a pain" Damien grunted

I was on the floor and stared up at the wall of Nina's room, sadly enough I didn't get to sleep with Andre like I wanted to.

"This is annoying" I growled

"Uhm, are you sure you don't want to sleep on the bed 16, I don't mind sleeping on the floor" Nina asked for the hundredth time.

"Don't worry if I get too uncomfortable I'd push you down and lay on the bed by myself" I stated and I heard her gulp

"Okay" she said

We stayed in silence without saying anything to each other until she decided to break the ice.

"Do you like Andre?" She asked out of the blue

"I love him" I said and I heard her gasp

"I noticed" she laughed

"Do you like Damien?" I asked her and she stayed quiet

"I do, I really really do" she said in almost a whisper

"I noticed" I sighed

"It doesn't matter if I do anyways, he'd never see me as anything but a friend" she said sounding extremely sad

"I don't know about that, but I know sitting around and thinking about what may or may not happen is a pain" I sighed

"I believe life should be lived without regrets, its better to be in pain than think about being in pain" i said and she looked down on me.

"Is that why you left the institute?" She asked

"One of the reasons"

"Your right! I'll tell him how I feel" she said and I stayed quiet

"You should tell Andre about how you feel as well" she said and I flinched at the thought

"I think he knows" I stated and she shook her head.

"Boys prefer you to be direct with them" she said and I chuckled

"Who's giving who advice now?" I laughed and she blushed

"Do you wanna watch Tiktak?" 

"I don't know what that is and shouldn't we be asleep?" I said and she came down the floor and laid beside me.

"This is tiktak"

I don't remember much from that night but I know it was one of the best nights of my entire life.
