Hells bells
Regina groaned and rubbed her temples softly, biting her bottom lip. "I can't do this. I can't do This. Mother! I won't do this.." She groaned and her mothers eyes snapped up and looked right at Regina.
"Excuse me?" She growled.
"Mother, please." Regina whispered barely even audible. "I can't do this...I barely know the king. I want to find true love, I want to be in love when I say 'I do'" she whispered and her eyes glasses over a little bit.
"This isn't a marriage. it's a fraud.." She whispered and sat down beside her mother calmly. Her hair was pinned up in a perfect bun with flowers that were delicately strung on an all silver chain. She had ample amounts of makeup done, her lips a dark red/cocoa color. Her eyes had a nice smokey eye on them and her eye lashes were a mile long. She had a beautiful blush on that made her cheeks look just a little rosy.
She ran her hands down the front of her dress, fixing wrinkles that weren't even there. Her mother cleared her throat and cupped Regina's cheeks. "Dear girl, what has mother told you about denying me?" She asked in a sickening sweet voice, "that it has consequences..." She whispered in a small, weak whisper. "That's correct, sweetheart! All of your actions have consequences."
Biting the inside of her cheek Regina nodded slowly, looking anywhere but into her mothers eyes. "I don't want to do this, mommy..." She said in a fragile voice, cringing as her mothers strong grip on her jaw got even tighter. "You do want to do this! You want to please your mother don't you?" Every moment of Regina's life was spent trying to make her mother happy, proud of her. She craved her mothers love more than anything else. It was actually quite twisted. "Mother, I-"
"No. Hear that?" It was a small chime that was barely heard from where they were sitting. Barely. "It means that it's time. Soon you'll be married to the king my dear." Regina winced and her mother wiped under her eyes before a tear fell.
"None of that! You'll ruin your makeup. Darling you look lovely..." Her dress was an off white with crystal bead work around the middle of her stomach, the top was all white lace and it was a a dress fit for a queen, big and beautiful. "Alright..." Regina whispered and took a deep breath.
"Good, darling. Let's go, you wouldn't want to be late for your own wedding!" She let out a small dry laugh and sighed happily. "Come along." They stood up and Cora took Regina's arm, smiling as they walked outside and into a carriage, heading to the church.
----------------------------------------------------"You look beautiful, Regina. "
"Thank you my king.."
Regina didn't make eye contact as the ceremony began, she just stared at her hands, memorizing them without the ring that was about to be placed on her finger. Robin had told the priest that vows were not going to take place today...he barely knew Regina and although he wanted to say vows, neither of them would no what to say.
"If it makes you feel better..I'm quite nervous myself."
"I'm not nervous, sir. Just...happy." She lied putting on a fake smile.
Robin saw right through it though. "Right...and my name is Robin. You could call me that." He sighed and they stood there for a second.
"Hey..." Robin reached out and squeezed one of Regina's fingers, causing her to gasp and pull away like she had been burnt.
"Oh I'm so sorry! So sorry!" She begged for forgiveness... "That was just..I wasn't expecting it." She whispered and the guests began to filter in around them. The priest moving before them. That's how the king preferred his weddings. The bride and groom together before anyone else was allowed in, that way the tension was eased and all the villagers and friends or family could see how their queen and king behaved together.
"Don't..worry about it." Robin whispered and sighed softly.
"We are gathered here today.." The priest said.
And so it began...
----------------------------------------------------The wedding reception was beautiful. Full of lights and flowers of every kind all around. All the women were wearing beautiful dresses and had wide smiles. The men In suits and tuxes happy to be there. A few dances took place and then every one sat to eat.
"Regina, hi." Robin smiled sitting down beside her.
"Hello." She greeted and pushed away the food he offered her, clearing her throat. "No thank you. I'm not very hungry.." She sighed and closed her eyes a moment before smiling weakly. Cora glared at Regina from across the table but she just ignored it and ate a single bite of her food, already feeling sick. She groaned and shook her head. "Sorry I..I can't."
Robin frowned and put his hand over hers, causing Regina to tense, she could see her ring just below where his fingers were placed and she sighed sadly. "M'lady...I'm going to tell the guests to leave. You need to sleep...it's been a long day."
Regina smiled weakly, just happy Robin had offered her to go to bed, thank goodness this day could be over. Cora sighed and slowly stood up. "I'll bring her to bed." Robin shook his head in a negative, "that's quite alright Cora. Actually you may go home now..the wedding is over and I'm sure you miss your home." Cora let out a silent growl but nodded slowly. "Of course my king." She leaned over and kissed Regina's cheek, biding her fair well and same for Robin.
Robin stood in front of the guests and sighed, "attention! It seems my wife is feeling ill. We are both sad to say that you all must leave. I want her to rest and I think she's exhausted." Everyone frowned and sighed sadly, filtering out of the reception hall. "Sorry. Thank you all for coming!"
Regina silently agreed by nodding her head and smiling at leaving guests. Robin helped her up and she cleared her throat softly. Oh no...why was he bringing her to bed? She could handle it herself. She began to internally panic, what was going to happen to her. Was he-
"Regina? Regina?" She had been staring blankly as he walked her all the way to her room, the entire way she was completely silent. She gasped and looked at to I. Realizing they were now standing inside of her room. "Oh I'm sorry! I-"
"You were zoned right out. Must be exhausted.
"Right..." Regina whispered softly.
"Here...let me help you." Robin whispered slowly guiding the zipper of Regina's dress down her back, she froze and bit her lip, standing stiff. Oh no...she felt like tears were about to take her over, but they never came.
Once Regina's dress was off, Robin sighed and moved to her closet, pulling out a soft silky pajama dress. He smiled at Regina and averted his gaze from her body, being a perfect gentleman as he held the night gown out to Regina. Regina took it and her fingers skimmed over robins softly.
"Thank you..." She breathed out.
"You're welcome.." Robin sighed and bit his lip, turning around and looking at the makeup sprawled out across her vanity. Regina quickly pulled her night gown on, discarding her corset first.
"Wow you really have a lot of makeup." He laughed softly.
"Oh yeah..it's manly my mothers." She shrugged softly and sighed.
Robin slowly turned around and smiled at Regina. "You looked absolutely stunning tonight." Regina couldn't help the blush that moved up her neck and settled on her cheeks. "Thank you..." She whispered softly.
Robin smiled and gently kissed Regina's cheek, she found herself smiling faintly at the action. He was so sweet, so gently. "Good night Robin..." Regina whispered. "Night Regina." He sighed and slowly walked out of her room, closing the door gently behind him.
Regina took her hair down, curls falling down around her and framing her face perfectly. She washed her face with warm soapy water getting all the makeup off and sunk into her very comfortable bed.
Robin wasn't at all how she thought he would be. He was gentle, careful and sweet to her, an actual gentleman. She bit her lip and closed her eyes, letting out a small wavered breath. This was her new life now.
She stared down at her wedding ring, closing her eyes and going somewhere else in her mind.
