Amilia pov:

If azrael is anything, it's stubborn. For the past week she has been doing nothing but trying to get me into the Christmas spirit. We spent the nights out and driving through neighborhoods to look at the Christmas lights.

We went Christmas caroling and we hated it, we made gingerbread houses and men, bought presents for the dogs together. We even made cookies and put up some decorations around the house. Now we're getting a tree.

"Is this necessary?" I groaned as she opened my door for me. She patted my butt and hooked her arm around my shoulder.

"Yes. A tree is the most important thing we can buy for the holiday." She looked like a little kid with the amount of sparkle in her eyes.

Walking through the crowd of people and going down aisles we looked for a good tree. She wanted an actual tree for the house, she said it would be more authentic

I didn't care about shopping for the tree but It was fun watching kids tackle the poor woman. She played and rough housed with them while their parents watched. I laughed when one threw a snowball at her.

Hearing me she snapped her head back to me, scooping snow into her hand before tossing it at me. I squealed and ran away as multiple came my way. Eventually a lot of people got involved, throwing snow at anyone in our path at the tree farm.

I hid behind a tree when someone grabbed me, lifting me up and twirled me around. Realizing who it was I let myself relax. Azrael set me down and placed a kiss on my lips. We laughed as we ducked and dodged attacks coming our way, hiding behind trees and returning some of our own.

Things died down eventually which gave us the opportunity to continue looking for a tree. She poked and prodded every tree she came across, widening her stance each time. I thought she would do the splits sooner or later.

Coming across a giant tree I could see her eyes light up. This was the one we got, getting it wrapped and packed away on top of the car. Paying and leaving we drove home slowly so it wouldn't slide off or get damaged.

We sang Christmas music in the car together, I was actually having fun today. When we pulled up to the house she had called some of her footmen to carry the tree up to the house. We took the elevator as they carried it up the stairs, it took them 45 minutes before they were up here.

She gave them time off as a thank you. She secured it into a higher and unwrapped the thing herself. Bringing out a box of decorations we spent our night dazzling the tree up.

Lights, ornaments, and a star. We took some photos of us tangled in the lights, some with the tree and a couple goofy looking ones. A lot were on the phone but she pulled an old Polaroid camera from the box.

We had the fireplace up and going, some hot chocolate spiked with whiskey, and old music playing as we relaxed. I was in one of her larger sweaters and some leggings. She wore a simple shirt and plain bottoms.

She leaned against the front of the couch while I laid on the soft furry rug by the fire. I watched as she raised the camera to take pictures of me, smiling when I posed for her. Each one that came out she would shake it and look it over.

"Are you enjoying yourself?" I snarked. She bit her lip and nodded, taking another picture of me on my side.

"The fire makes your eyes glow." She whispered. I could feel the heat on my face worsen, surely from her comment.

"Don't say nice things so casually." I laid on my front, keeping my head turned to the side so I could look at her.

"Does it make you queasy?" She laughed and snapped another photo. Feeling embarrassed I just nodded and flipped onto my back, ignoring her.
