{Quick Introduction}
I just wanted to say that this is just FANFICTION and none of this is real and it's just for amusment. Also English isn't my first language so there might be some grammar and spelling mistakes.

I only own the two characters I created myself in this story and not any other people from F1!

It was the first race of the season in Bahrain and Lucia was there to support her brother. Lucia had attended an art school specialized in photography in London after she finished High School, which was the reason why her English had no Spanish accent anymore unlike her brother's. Now 20 years old she had decided to take a gap year to be able to travel with Carlos and bring back her passion for taking pictures of the races, before she would go back to England to attend university and get a degree in fine art. After being away for a whole year, she missed spending time with her brother and figured the best way was to support him the whole season and travel with his team.

Since she was a little kid, she took pictures of everything, but mostly of racetracks, karts, and young karting drivers. When Carlos was younger, he was always karting and their parents took Lucia with them, not that she minded. She always had acted like she hated it, but secretly, she loved the atmosphere there and she loved to take pictures of the tracks and the kids. She was beyond proud when Carlos finally made it to Formula One and she came to every race she could manage. Not only was she there to support her big brother, who was always there for her, but also because she had fallen in love with the sport as well. Taking this gap year was a good decision for Lucia to go back to her old self, and spend some time at the racetracks, where she basically grew up.

Now she was watching Carlos drive in the McLaren, as she took a bunch of pictures of the cars, and the fascinating garage. She started walking around a bit to find a spot where she could watch the race in peace. Even though she had a paddock pass and was always welcome int the McLaren garage, she liked to explore the different tracks. Unfortunately for her, everywhere she looked, were a bunch of people. She decided to join a crowd that was standing in a corner. It was an awesome spot to watch the race, and for Lucia to take some photos. She finally squeezed her way through the crowd, as she was way too small to be able to see anything from further back and pulled out her camera. Minutes later a Red Bull car crashed right in front of the crowd. The two Red Bull cars had been fighting for third place and when one of them was trying to pass the other one, they touched and the car in front started spinning around and crashed. Lucia was worried that the driver might be hurt but was relieved that it wasn't an orange car that had crashed. Sometimes she forgot how dangerous the sport could be. Thankfully the driver got out of the car safely, and she started to take pictures again. An angry Max Verstappen was walking off the track, and just for a second, as Lucia was taking pictures, his eyes caught the girl behind the camera.

Lucia felt a bit creeped out and kind of like a stalker, even though she knew that these drivers were filmed and photographed all the time, she still put her camera down. Checo was able to keep driving, but it still caused a safety car. Lucia quickly made her way in to the pits, not feeling as comfortable as before. As she was walking into the garage, she felt a hand pull her arm back.

"I have been searching for you the whole day! You know I texted you like 50 times?" Marilla scouted in her thick british accent.

Lucia pulled her phone out of her pocket to check, and in fact, there were about 50 unread messages from Mary.

"I'm sorry Mary, I was with the McLaren team and then I got distracted taking some photos you know" Lucia told her and Marilla, who liked to be called Mary, shrugged it off.

"It's alright, as long as you come watch the race with me back at the garage" Marilla said, and Lucia agreed.

She quickly informed one of the McLaren staff members that she was at the Red Bull quarters, in case Carlos asked for her later, and made her way back to Marilla. It wasn't the first time she had watched a race from the Red Bull garage. Marilla wasn't just anyone, she was Christian Horner's daughter. They both spent so much time at racetracks around the whole world, that they eventually bumped into each other and became best friends the moment they met.Usually, it was quite fun watching the races with the Red Bull team, they were lovely people and very passionate about the sport, and since Carlos had started racing with the Red Bull Junior team, Lucia still knew some people there. As they walked inside, Lucia could feel the energy in the room changing. Something was off. Then he walked in, Max Verstappen.

"I'm so sorry Max, you'll get him next time" Marilla told him, and he nodded and gave her a quick smile.

Marilla had a small crush on him for a while now and she had proudly told Lucia a few weeks ago how she finally got him to notice her more and talk to her more during testing here in Bahrain. Lucia just kind of hoped she never would have to talk to him, given that he intimidated her, and he enjoyed it. Now it was even more awkward since that picture incident when he crashed. Max and Lucia weren't exactly strangers, since Max and Carlos were together in the Red Bull Junior team, but she never really got to know him. He was a confident guy, who drove like he had nothing to lose, and his ego was as big as his winning rate. Marilla got up to get some water for them, and Lucia looked at her desperately, hoping she would ask her to come with her, but she left the room so fast, she couldn't even get up to follow her. Slowly, Max's eyes traveled Lucia's body until his cold blue eyes met her warm brown one's. She didn't want him to know that he made her nervous, so she broke the eye contact with the Dutch man and started to look at the pictures she took on her camera.

Max wasn't angry anymore about the crash. It had happened and there was nothing that could change that now. Checo wanted to be Red Bull's first driver and that was never going to happen, and he knew that. There was nothing Max had done wrong, the opposite, it made his teammate look bad. Max was seeing a new therapist, to cope with his anger issues and it seemed to be working better than he expected.

Now Max knew that Christian's daughter Marilla, had picked an interest in him, but he would never go there. His boss's daughter? Never. But her brown-haired friend, interested him way more. Lucia always thought that she was invisible to people, because with a camera hanging around her neck, she looked just like all the other paparazzi, but she was wrong. He saw her, taking pictures of drivers, of the tracks, the landscape, the paddock, the garages and of him. Truth to be told, Max wasn't the only driver who noticed Lucia.
