the truth

After about 15 minutes, the two of them were walking into the house and Lando was already in the entrance waiting for them.

"Finally!"  he exclaimed.

"Oh my- You are not who I thought you would be"  he said, as Charles looked at him weirdly.

Charles knew whom Lando was expecting, Max. If Lando thought Lucia had slept with Max, was she actually not interested in him then? If he knew her so well...

"Lando shut up. And don't tell my brother anything" she demanded, but the smirk on his face was telling her everything she needed to know.

Lando wanted to tell her brother so badly. For some reason, when it came to her dating life, he loved to gossip about it to Carlos, so they could slightly sabotage her relationships when they thought the person wasn't good enough for her.

She knew they meant well, but she was old enough to decide that for herself now.

"So is this like a casual thing between you two? Like fuck buddies or is this more serious. Because that really will define whether or not I will tell him about this"

"Okay stop talking. If you tell him any of this, I will tell your date how much you bragged about her and how you couldn't stop talking about her on the phone and that you are just a shy guy and she should not give up on you"

His smirk quickly dropped, as he knew that Lucia would do this without hesitation. Since Lando became her brother's teammate and they started to develop this sibling-like friendship, they had been threatening each other with stuff like this.

"So what are we cooking tonight? Charles do you cook much?"  he asked very friendly, putting one arm around Lucia's shoulder and the other around Charles's shoulder.

"How about Pasta with chicken?"  Charles suggested, critically looking over at the way Lando was holding her.

He just wanted to make sure he wasn't trying anything on her. He did believe Lu earlier when she had told him nothing had ever happened between the two, but he decided to still keep a close eye on Lando.

"Interesting choice, but sure"  Lando replied, as he guided both of them into the kitchen to introduce them to his date.

The evening had been pretty good. They had dined all together in the big garden and Charles was enjoying the time he was spending with Lucia and Lando. The longer he watched them, the more he realized what kind of relationship Lucia had with the British guy. It calmed his nerves a bit.

Now Lucia and he were standing in front of the door, holding hands but not saying anything to each other. They both didn't want the day to be over just yet, it had been so perfect.

"I wish I could stay longer, but tomorrow is really important to me and I really need some good night's sleep"  Charles explained, as one hand slowly traveled up Lucia's arm.

His fingers then stroked her hair and cheek and she automatically leaned into his touch. It was like her brain didn't even need to think about what to do, when he was around her, her body had a mind of its own.

"I know"  she said slightly pounding, not breaking the eye contact.

"You could stay with me though"  he suggested, but he knew she would decline.

From what he had heard from the phone call earlier, she had some serious things to talk about with her friend and her brother, so he knew she would stay at her house tonight.

"I wish I could, but I need to talk to Carlos and Marilla tonight"

"Okay, see you tomorrow then? Maybe we could eat some breakfast and head to the paddock together?"  he asked, his thumb lightly pulling down her lower lip, as his gaze was fixed on her mouth now.
