Chloe was standing next to Mr. Harris, the fencing coach, watching her classmates fence, she didn't move to Nevermore to put herself through the torture of 'cardio'. Her eyes drifted to Xavier more often than not, watching him dance fluidly in the white fencing uniform. Suddenly, the doors of the room opened and Wednesday walked in, clad in a black fencing uniform, making her stand out against the other students' white uniform. Wednesday walked through the middle of the fencers, making them stop and wonder what she was doing. Xavier pulled his helmet off and gave her a confused look. His sweat made his skin shine and his hair fluffed up, giving him a lion's mane, Chloe gulped as she admired the boy's charm. 

Wednesday stopped in front of Bianca's and Rowan's practice, Rowan had obviously lost as he fell on the ground and took off his helmet saying, "Coach, coach, she tripped me." 

Chloe snickered, as Bianca took her helmet off as well, thinking Pride would have a field day with this one. 

Mr. Harris commented in his accent, "It was a clean strike, Rowan."

"Maybe if you whined less and practiced more, you wouldn't suck." Bianca said arrogantly. "Seriously, Coach, when am I gonna get some real competition? Anyone else want to challenge me?"

"I do." Wednesday said in determination.

Bianca turned to face her and said, "Oh, you must be the psychopath they let in."

"And you must be the self-appointed Queen Bee." Bianca shrugged while Wednesday continued, "Interesting thing about bees. Pull out their stingers and they drop dead."

Some of the fencers gave an "Ohhh" and Chloe chuckled, forgiving the gloomy child for assuming she was a pushover. Chloe sensed the tension from the two girls and walked over to Xavier. He was still watching the interaction, trying to keep his own competitiveness at bay, as Chloe built up enough courage to poke his arm, gaining his attention. She stared up into his passionate eyes.

 "Um, you should probably back up, Wednesday isn't going to stay on the mat." She looked down, speaking into her chest, "And no one would want anything to happen to your beautiful face."

Xavier nodded as he strained his ears to hear the last part. "Yeah, thanks for the warning." He backed up, walking closer to the center of his mat as Chloe followed him, standing a foot away from him. 

The two girls started to fence as the coach called, "En garde."

Xavier was watching the girls as he said, "My name is Xavier, by the way." He gave Chloe a glance as she responded with, "I know, I'm Chloe, though." They watched as Bianca and Wednesday started fencing. 

Wednesday had won the first round and Bianca, the next. Wednesday took her helmet off, staring Bianca in the eyes, as Bianca challenged, "That first point was clearly beginner's luck. Let's finish this."

"For the final point I would like to invoke a military challenge. No masks. No tips. Winner draws first blood."

The surrounding fencers "Ohh"-ed for the second time as the coach commented, "It's your decision, Bianca."

The two girls gave each other threatening glares as Bianca answered, "Let's see if you bleed in black and white." 

They started immediately, disregarding their helmets and the safety of their classmates. The fight approached Chloe and Xavier as Wednesday did an aerial to dodge Bianca's sword. The two girls went back and forth, giving and receiving blows from each other. As Wednesday spun to get out of Bianca's range, she almost ran into Chloe. However a long and strong arm came from beside her, wrapping around her waist and pulling her away from the approaching girl. Chloe looked up at her savior and he looked down at her, giving her a soft smile. The fight ended with blood on Wednesday's forehead and Chloe in Xavier's arm.
