A Shogun's Fall

Chapter 1: New Mission

As the sirens continued to wail, Kaiden rushed into his tent to get his weapon. As he was running, he saw several Fatui soldiers charging in the front gates while another group was jumping over the walls from the outside, it caught almost all of Renaisian's soldiers off-guard. The Renaisian soldiers got their weapons ready while the others were already engaging them. From sword fighting to a shoot-out, everything in the camp was noisy and not at peace unlike earlier. Each soldier from both sides screams and yells while they engage with one another. While Kaiden was unarmed, the Fatui soldiers saw this as a chance to attack him and so they did.

They stopped the Captain from proceeding any further, they surrounded him with their swords pointing at him. Kaiden took a few steps back slowly while the Fatui soldiers closes on him. One of them attacked first, swinging his sword diagonally, Kaiden grabbed the Soldier's sword arm and elbowed him in the face while taking away his weapon, seeing him down on the ground, he saw the scared look on his face but instead of sparing him, Kaiden had no choice but to stab the soldier in the stomach, killing him. He then engaged the others, counter-attacking each time they swing. Kaiden took at least three men including the first soldier but there were still many of them.

Then, as they were about to attack again. The cavalry came and pulled their elemental muskets, killing most of them, the other Fatui soldiers got frightened and didn't want to die, so. They dropped their weapons to surrender but the cavalry didn't care if they surrendered. They charged at them and stabbed them all with their bayonets. From behind, Kaiden could see Colonel Buck giving the orders as their horses ran past him.

"Do not take any prisoners! These Snezhnaya dogs wanted to die then we'll give them death!!!" He shouted at the top of his lungs as the other soldiers did as they were ordered to do. As for Kaiden, he took care of the strangers that the cavalry wasn't able to kill.

While they were fighting, some of the Fatui soldiers hijacked one of their Magi-Armor after killing one of their pilots. The Fatui was having a hard time as she tries to figure out the controls. Instead of using the flight stick of the Magi-Armor, she started pressing several buttons as it fired all around the base.

Both soldiers from the Fatui and the Renaisian were caught in the wildfire, both their sides were shot either in the head or on their torso, and since the Magi-Armor's weapons were different from the normal musket, it managed to fire several rounds of musket balls filled with pyro burning down several tents, some engineers were even killed.

When there was an incoming bullet fire flying towards Kaiden, he was tackled by someone. He identified who it was who tackled him to the ground and it was Lieutenant Maxwell.

"Top of the morning to you, sir!" He said with a sarcastic tone in his voice.

"Some morning." The two men laughed. Then the Fatui soldier that was commandeering the Magi-Armor was taken out by none other than Cassia. She stabbed the Fatui pilot and took her corpse away from the cockpit and got control. She then aimed at the large forces at the gates and fired at them.

Several of these Fatui Skirmishers held their own against their heavy weaponry, some of them didn't survive though due to the Magi-Armor's Volley guns because of how fast they shot through, the ones that survived though were what the Fatui identifies these units as the Hydrogunner Legionnaire as they deflected the attacks due to the Magi-Armor fired pyro volley rather than other elements.

"Those Fatui bastards are at the end of their rope." Said the Lieutenant. "How should we proceed, sir?"

"Hopefully, Colonel Buck won't order us to kill all of them. We need information after all."

"Yeah, here's hoping."

Getting his weapons, Captain Kaiden then helped the troops by routing the rest of the stranglers of the Fatui soldiers. There were only a few who survived the attack from Cassia and the rest of the Magi-Armor, the survivors tried to retreat, and they ran as fast as they could, even dropping their weapons. Seeing this, Kaiden along with Maxwell and a few others ran towards the stables and got on their horses, and chased after them.
