Danny Limelight

"You know if you could move your hips like that, I'd probably be more interested in more than friends" I murmured watching the way Danny Limelight moved his hips during his entrance. "Oh, come on, seriously Mari. Him? Of all people?" Karl whined as we waited for his theme music to start "I'm not saying I'm in love with him Karl jeez" I laughed "Plus I'm going out there with you, aren't I?" I pointed out letting him grab my hand as we stepped onto the stage "Yeah because your mom makes you" he shot back making me laugh quietly as we headed down to the ring. "Ai Mami!" Danny shouted my eyes going up to see him sitting on the ring post "Looking good" he winked receiving an uninterested eye roll even though internally I was melting into a puddle. It was such a good match, both teams fighting hard and surprisingly clean giving the fans a great show. Until it wasn't clean anymore. I screamed as I was pulled in front of Lio, Danny stopping himself at the last second before he connected with me instead of his opponent. I was shoved at the man and then shoved to the floor seconds before Lio kicked right where my head had been, Danny, dropping to the floor with a thud. Pushing up to my feet I spun to face Karl's teammate for the night. "What the hell is wrong with you?" I shouted shoving the man roughly "Come on! You're fine!" he yelled back holding his hands up in defense "Oh what and you just knew he would move me and not make me take the kick instead" I shot back looking around for Karl and seeing him busy in the ring with Tom. "Well no but" before he could finish his sentence, I had slapped him sound across the face and was stomping back to the locker rooms pissed at Rush. I had been accompanying Karl out to his matches his entire career and never once has he had a tag team partner that has put me in that kind of position. If I had my way Karl would never team with him again.

"Mari!" Karl shouted as the group of men walked into the locker room now finished with their match "Are you okay" he questioned rushing over my eyes locked in a glare on Lio Rush who was avoiding us at all costs. "Yeah, I'm fine thankfully." I mumbled passing him his street clothes so he could go change, Lawlor and Limelight almost immediately taking his place "I'm sorry I pushed you Mariposa" Danny apologized eyes flitting over me quickly "Hope you're alright little lady" Tom added before he walked off, both comments shocking me slightly "It's okay. I'd rather you push me than let me take that kick" I assured giving Danny a small smile, accepting Karl's dirty ring clothes and shoving them into his bag once he had returned. "No kidding. Thanks for looking out for her man. We've never had someone do that to her before" Karl sighed wrapping an arm around me "I mean don't get me wrong I know it's always a possibility but that's a lot different than it actually happening" I sighed grabbing my jacket and pulling it up my arms "Thank you, Danny." I stated one more time before following Karl out of the room both of us more than ready to get the hell out and head for the club. "I'm so ready for a drink." I sighed not having expected tonight to be so stressful and turn out how it had. "Hey, Karl" Lio called my eyes rolling just at the noise of the man "I'll be in the car" I stated simply continuing to walk as Karl stopped and waited for his temporary teammate to catch up. I was scrolling through my phone when the door opened and slammed shut, Karl's chest heaving as he gripped the steering wheel tightly "Do I want to ask?" I sighed turning in my seat to watch my best friend "Let's just say management is watching me and I've already gotten two warnings about fighting outside the ring" he sighed heavily his words making me groan and fall back into my seat with a thud. "Karl, you're gonna get yourself kicked out." I stated seriously as he put the car in drive, and we headed for the club "Let's just forget it and have some fun" he sighed giving me a grin before he turned back to the road. 

"I'm gonna go get some drinks" Karl stated dropping his jacket before disappearing. I lost track of how long Karl was gone as I sat by myself on my phone. "Mariposa" a husky voice called over the music my attention going from my phone to see Danny stepping in front of me with a smirk on his face. "Come dance with me Mami" he offered me his hand the thought of what Karl would think flitting through my head "Ai, I know what you're thinking but he ditched you over here by yourself." He commented on the thought showing on my face as well. "You're allowed to have some fun too." He prodded smirking wider as I set my phone down by Karl's jacket and slowly slipped my hand into his. "See was that so hard" he teased leading me through the bodies until we were in the center of the dance floor, his hands finding a grip on my hips and pulling me flush against his body. "I've seen you move Mami, don't tell me I make you nervous" he ducked his head to whisper the words right in my ear the warmth of his breath making me shiver in his grip. I stopped thinking and just let the music take over, our bodies moving together to the music as lights flashed around us. I was broken out of my trance as shouting sounded from somewhere off by the bar one voice in particular standing out. "Oh, not again" I sighed pulling away from Danny and shoving through the people to get closer to the shouting. Breaking through the last few people I noticed it was Karl and one of the newer arrivals butting heads. "I'd take that pretty little thing for a spin" the new guy, Gabriel Kidd, sounded making me groan "What's going on?" Danny questioned lowly his hand settling on my hip "New guy is talking crap to Karl about me" I admitted knowing it was a surefire way to get the man in a fight. "Leave her alone. Or so help me" Karl shot back hands clenched into fists at his side. "Whatcha gonna do Alpha" the guy teased finally making me step forward "Nothing Karl, you aren't going to do anything" I answered rushing to my best friend's side putting myself between the two ensuring Karl didn't lunge at the other man. "Karl you cannot get in another fight" I reminded quietly knowing that he was already in hot water after the incident before we left earlier. " I know Mari but" he was cut off by a shrill scream both of us turned to see Gabriel now laying on the floor and Danny standing over him. "Keep my girlfriend's name out of your fucking mouth" he growled before he was walking towards Karl and me.

"We should go" he warned all three of us quickly moving through the crowd to grab our things before rushing to the parking lot. "Girlfriend?" Karl and I both said in unison as the three of us loaded into Karl's car. "I was going to ask" was all the male said before silence filled the car the three of us climbed out once we reached the hotel. "I'll see you in the morning Mari" Karl sighed sharing a look with Danny before he was walking off leaving the two of us alone. "If you say no I get it. Not a lot of people want the guy with the kid and the foul mouth and bad attitude" the man commented softly making me sigh "Oh Danny, it's not that." I denied following him into the hotel and down the hall towards our block of rooms. "We hardly know each other, I'm not saying no" I stated stopping and turning to face him "I'm not saying no, I'm just saying let's take it slow. Get to know each other before we jump into this. I'd hate to rush in and turns out you hate everything about me" I smirked accepting the hand he held out for me, letting him pull me into his chest. "I can't imagine there's anything about you to hate" he sighed wrapping his free arm around my waist "Oh ask Karl. He's got a laundry list" I snorted knowing I had my flaws just like I'm sure he'd have his. "I think I'd rather just spend time with you and find out for myself" he smirked holding me tightly "Say breakfast in the morning?" he suggested hand gently rubbing the one he still had in his grip "I've never been asked on a breakfast date before" I stated looking up at him "Well in that case, I will meet you in the lobby at 8 AM." he smiled leaning down to press a soft kiss to the corner of my mouth before he was letting me go and backing up. "Sweet dreams Mariposa he whispered before he was moving further down the hall and I was stepping into the shared room with Karl. 

I couldn't stop the squeal of excitement that pushed through my lips once the door was closed behind me. "So?" the man questioned looking up from his phone "So we are going to breakfast in the morning. I told him we should take it slow, get to know each other before we jump into a relationship" I sighed pulling out pajamas and heading into the bathroom "I told him I'd hate to rush into it and then he learns there's nothing about me he likes" I called through the door, opening it moments later now free of makeup and feeling more comfortable. "What could there possibly be that he wouldn't like?" he asked eyebrows scrunched in confusion "I don't know, I told him you probably had a list" I laughed crawling into bed and snuggling into the blankets looking over at him. "There are probably like 5 things you do that drive me crazy but I'm also not dating you" he snorted with a roll of his eyes "I'm just saying, be warned he might come to you for pointers on how to deal with me" I laughed grabbing my phone as it pinged with a message opening the device to see a picture of the sweetest looking little girl asleep in his hotel room. *Did I say we should wait and take it slow? I meant please let me meet your daughter because she's so freaking cute* I texted back hardly able to believe something that looked that sweet came from that man. *For real? She's going to ask to come with tomorrow morning* was the return I got, my excitement growing even more than I thought possible *YES PLEASE!!* I responded quickly receiving the laughing crying emoji and the heart eye emoji back followed by a sweet text of *Goodnight Mami.* Needless to say I ended up falling asleep with a huge smile on my face and more excitement to wake up then I remember since I was a little kid on Christmas.
