"Hey, Iya!" Max called, rushing towards me. "You've been avoiding me; what's up?" he asked, reaching and grabbing my hand. "Don't fucking touch me," I snapped, ripping my hand from his grip and continuing to walk away toward the BCC locker room. "Baby, stop; you know how this business is." He growled, pulling me to a stop and turning me to face him. "This is how the business is, Max? This?" I cried, ripping my sunglasses off to reveal the mottled black and purple flesh surrounding my bloodshot eye. "Iya," he whispered, dropping his grip in shock, leaving me to walk away from the man. I felt terrible for being so short with him, but my emotions had been all over the place the last few days, and I was in pain, so I just wanted to be left alone.

"Did you do something different with your makeup today, Iya? You got this sexy bloodshot look going on," Jon smirked, receiving a middle finger in return. "Shut up, Moxy. My head and face hurt so fucking bad," I whined, laying across the couch and setting my head in his lap, carefully burying my face into his stomach to block out the light. "Darlin, you can't hold this against him; he wasn't aiming for you," the older male sighed, gently rubbing my side. "Hey babe," Renee sounded, my head moving just long enough to smile and wave at the blonde and the toddler she was carrying before I was burrowing back into Jon's stomach. "Oh, Iya, that looks terrible." she sighed, gentle hands pulling my face back so she could look at it. "I know. Doc Samson said I have to wait, though; there's nothing to fix it," I whined, burrowing back into the stomach of her husband. "Back to what I said, you can't punish him for this, Iya, if you wanna be pissed, be pissed, but you can't just avoid the problem. You need to hash it out and figure out what happens next." he sighed, rubbing my side gently, all of us jumping as a knock sounded on the door. "I'll grab it, Nora. Make Auntie Iya feel better," Renee sighed, leaving the little girl to crawl onto my body closer to her dad. "Hey baby girl," the man cooed as tiny hands settled on my chest, soon followed by the weight of a small body lying down. "Hi, sweet girl," I sighed, rolling onto my back so she could lay on my chest. "I tried to get him to leave, but he kind of just pushed his way in," Renee commented as Max stepped around the corner. "Dude, you got some balls pushing in here past my wife, with my daughter and my best friend in here," Jon commented, sitting up straighter. "I'm not here to fight; I'm not here to hurt anyone. I just," Max stopped. "I did that?" he asked, pointing at my face, his voice cracking halfway through. Sighing heavily, I got up, holding Nora tightly, the little girl wrapping her arms around my neck tightly. "Maybe we should talk," I mumbled, nudging my head towards the door. "I'm keeping her," I added, giving Renee a small smile as I passed her with Nora in my arms; the little girl was a security blanket for me.

"Here works," I sighed, stopping in the center of a storage hallway, feeling like we were far enough away from everyone not to be interrupted. "I think," he started to say while I began to say 'I Know.' "You go first," he offered; I wished he had wanted to go first. I hated these kind of situations. "Ya Ya," Nora whispered, pulling her head back. "I'm okay," I promised, kissing the top of her head, the limb resting on my shoulder. "I know shit happens in this business, even more so when you insert yourself into the situations I do and have friends like Jon." I started rocking back and forth gently, the little girl burrowing further into my shoulder. "I shouldn't have been avoiding you because, yes, you hit me. yes, technically, you did this, but it's not you that I'm upset with; it's not you that I'm mad at." I continued taking a deep breath. "We knew our lives would get worse before they got better. We knew that something huge was bound to happen before this was over and we could breathe again. But none of us expected," I paused, sniffling quietly, burrowing my face into Nora's head. "None of us expected it to come at the hands of the man who has been a father figure to all of us, at the man who united us all and who has been the only stable figure most of us have ever known," I admitted the rawness of the abandonment, the stab to the back from Regal still very fresh in our minds. "I'm not mad at you, Max, and I know you didn't mean to do this. I shouldn't have avoided you and made you suffer when it isn't your fault I feel this way." I apologized again, finally daring to look up at the man staring at me.

"You'd make a perfect mom," he mumbled, making me tilt my head. "You didn't hear a single word I just said, did you?" I asked, smirking slightly at the man in front of me. "You're not mad at me; it's Regal's fault I've missed the last few days with you. Yada yada yada," he waved his hand in dismissal. "You'd make a good, really hot mom. And we'd make adorable kids," he muttered, making me roll my eyes slightly. "You've barely agreed to tell people about me, Max. I don't think kids are something we should be discussing." I sighed, adjusting Nora in my grip. "Who said we have to follow social norms? If we want them, we should have them regardless of how others feel about it." he shrugged, taking a step closer and resting his hands on my hips. "You're serious?" I asked, realizing he wasn't even joking. "Iya, I love you," he stated thoughtfully; the three words nearly made me gasp. "I love you, and I'm not afraid to say it anymore. I hated not knowing what was going on and happening with you the last few days. All I wanted was to be beside you. Letting you walk away earlier was the hardest thing I think I've ever done, and I don't want to do it again." he spoke lowly, tears filling my lash line. "I love you too, Max," I whispered, knowing I didn't need to hear anymore to tell him how I felt. "I love you too, and if you're serious about wanting kids, I wouldn't hate that." I nodded, giggling as he pressed our lips together. "Ya Ya, he's squishing me," Nora whined, pulling us apart. "I'm sorry, Squirt. You're so quiet I almost forgot you were there," Max apologized to the little girl. I almost gasped as she twisted and reached out for him, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck once she was in his arms. Deciding to keep my mouth shut in case she freaked out that he was a stranger, I accepted the man's free hand as we walked back to the locker room. I wasn't the only one surprised as Jon and Renee were wide-eyed upon our arrival, a little snore from the girl keeping us all quiet with our exclamations.
