Hello, everyone!
So, little update: Physical therapy is honestly going much slower than I originally thought it would, and with The Owl House making its return in January, I decided to publish an AU that my dearest friend Emperor_Drakkon had made a while back; an AU that we both had an hand in expanding and nurturing as more of Hunter's past was revealed the more the show went on!
Now, as this is just currently an introduction to the story of this AU, I want to make some things very clear!
1: This story is going to be dark.
This story is going to contain themes of mental health issues via trauma from child abuse, references to Puritan upbringing and the Connecticut Witch Trials, past religious abuse and religious trauma, and there's going to be themes of murder and violence. So, if any of these themes are going to trigger you, I highly recommend you just click off this story.
2: Quite a few characters in this story are probably going to be a bit OOC. This is probably going to be a little more easier to grasp if you read Witches Among Humans by the aforementioned (and great) Emperor_Drakkon himself, which also was inspired by the original comic created by MoringMark!
While you can read TRG as a stand alone story, there are going to be some family dynamics that you may find a little questionable unless you read WAH. TRG is actually an AU of WAH, though it'll follow a mostly different storyline and have parallels to the canon show. So if you wanna read WAH first: GO AHEAD. SERIOUSLY, WAH IS AMAZING. I RECOMMEND IT SO DAMN HARD.
3: I'm sorry, y'all, but there is just going to be no Huntlow.
I mean, it's cute, don't get me wrong, but I just can't see Hunter and Willow getting together.
Y'see, when season 2A was still airing, Emperor_Drakkon and I started to get pretty interested in Hunter x Emira/Huntmira because MoringMark, the aforementioned creator of the original WAH, had created a few comics about them, and we ended up falling in love (lol) with the ship to the point where we included it in the TRG AU, and we roleplayed Huntmira so much that we just ship it as hard as we ship Lumity.
So, sorry, Huntlow fans, y'all won't be getting what you're looking for here. Buuut, don't worry, Willow will be in a relationship (and no, you creeps, it won't be with Gus). It'll be with someone you may not expect. 😉
Anyways, yeah, that's pretty much it! TRG will be very different from the show, but some things will stay the same.
And of course, Lumity is going to be included. I NEED MY GAY WITCH BABIES.
Also, like it's been mentioned, there's a pretty good chance that this story is going to have slow updates. Emperor_Drakkon won't always help me write the story, so I'll probably be writing quite a few chapters on my own, and it'll most likely take me a while because I'm also helping him with other projects.
I'll be thoroughly looking through the Red Guard draft, and I probably won't be uploading the chapters until each of them are individually edited, so... patience, people.
