CHAPTER THREE

Death.

That's what my second journey brought me.

It all started with a large war. It was 2001 or 2002. The government declared war on Iraq, thinking that they had weapons of mass destruction. It's not like I'm Iraq, but I'm pretty sure they don't. Besides, 9/11 was a huge hoax. The government organized it. They even have documentaries proving 9/11 was a fake. I'm not allowed to say this, but word needs to be said.

Anyway, It was about a year after the first journey. The pay from that was huge, but still, I was becoming poor and I actually wished for another large mission with big pay. It worked, but it wasn't a mission.

I got fired from my job. I became too angry with the staff and always swore at them since the first journey. It was one of the worst parts of my life.

Then, my father died.

It happened on a warm and sunny september morning. We were on a cliff, admiring the view. We always would go on the cliff. It helps with self-happiness. It's like meditation. And yes, you guessed it. When we tried to walk to home, my dad tripped on a rock, a small rock, and fell. He grabbed on a ledge, but it was too far down for me to save him. We talked to each other about things before he died.

For the first time since I was twelve, I cried.

I wanted to jump off the cliff with him. My mother heard the screams, so she ran to me. I don't want to share how she reacted. All I can say is, it was the worst reaction I ever saw my mother do.

My parents never fought, so I guess it must have been really sad for her.

You saw that cover picture, right? On the book?

That's me, with my best bow and arrow, going on the second journey. I had all my supplies with me, my best books and my lucky arrow. I remember when I packed, I had exactly twenty-six arrows.

Oh, you want to know why?

I was given a job right after my father died. He had worked as a sea captain, and they wanted me to replace him.

Since I got fired, and for my father, I agreed. Why not? The pay was high, and I wanted an adventure. The time of my life. Ever since I was young, I wanted a big adventure,

You guessed it. With my horrible ship skills, I crashed us. It was dark and stormy and raining. All of them died. All of them. I'm not sure how I survived.

I swam to a rocky island. There was a small cave there, good enough for shelter. I was having an adventure.

I managed to retrieve my bow later on in the night. It was good, and luckily my arrows had waterproof materials on them.

I slept in the cave through the dark and rainy night.
