CHAPTER FOUR

Eventually, I woke up.

It was late morning, so I thought I slept a lot.

I was hungry, thirsty, and tired. The usual. Since I could hunt, I tried to venture into the island, but all I saw was rocks. I couldn't risk getting lost, because I knew the ship had emergency radios. I could swim in there and use the radio to call help. I still needed food, though. I couldn't walk a step without food, let alone swim.

I decided to venture into the rocks but go in a straight direction. I had a compass in my pocket, so I knew I was heading north. I wasn't sure because the water could have broken the compass.

After a while of travelling, I still saw no end to the endless rocks. I was so tired so I couldn't walk another step. I felt like sleeping on the rocks right where I stood, or even shoot myself with the bow.

"You lost?"

I spun around and saw a man with sailor clothes. It's the sailor, the drunk one. I was happy to see a person, but too tired to care. Still, I managed to say something.

"Take me back to the cave. I need sleep." I manage to say.

"I saw you sleep. You didn't notice me when you walked out," he explains.

I wanted to say more, but I fall out of exhaustian.

I wake up in the cave, like I asked. He stared at me with a worried expression. He has a large white beard with sunglasses.

"You know, I was your father's best buddy," he told me.

"Great to know," I muttered in sarcasm.

He stared at me for a long time, and I started to think he was drunk again.

"You need food, and I have some. Do you want it or not?" he finally said.

"Yes, please," I said weakly.

I don't know where he got the food from, but there was so much that we ate it for over a week, and there was still a lot left of it. I never told him about the radio yet, because I didn't trust him.

Remember when I said he was on the ship?

I lied.
