"Yo, sister! Wake up!" yells Kris, poking me. I peek my head out of my duvet - Kris is sitting on one side of the bed. He pulls the duvet off of my body. "It's school today; get your lazy ass ready and come downstairs. Mom's gone to work with Maria, so I'm making breakfast today, he says, and gets up, a triumphant look on his face. My eyes widen and I sit up in bed. "No way, I'd rather eat stones," I tell him.

It's true. When Kris cooks food, it either becomes a black gooey mess, or burnt like charcoal. And when both things happen together - get ready for radioactive sludge. I swear, I like stones better than his food. Not that I've ever eaten stones, of course.

Kris looks at me, kinda annoyed. "Okay, I'll just put out some cereal for you, but come downstairs quickly." I nod, and he walks out. "I like Fruit Loops, not Cap'n Crunch!" I call out behind him, and then sigh. I think about yesterday; the time spent with Brandon. Surprisingly, I found out that if we share some food, we get along really well. We kept talking and bickering and eating until Kris came to Brandon's house to get me, saying it was past 10 pm and that I have my own house to sleep in.

I'm just sitting there, thinking, when Kris comes in again. "Kyles! I called you around half-an-hour ago! D'you wanna be late?!" he 'scolds' me, and suddenly picks me up bridal style. "Kris! What the heck are you doing?!" I shriek. He smirks and carries me to my bathroom, dumping me into the empty bathtub carved out in the floor. "Now you can get ready, or stay in that bathtub forever," he tells me as I rub my butt to get rid of the pain.

I stick my tongue out at him as he walks out.

Dear God, I'm so thankful that you gave me a twin brother. ( note sarcasm)

I walk into the dining room about 10 minutes later, and find a bowl of Fruit Loops and milk waiting for me on the table.

Whoa, thanks Kris.

I sit down and notice a Post-it attached to the bowl-

You're surely gonna be late, Kyles. I've gone to school already. Told June you won't be picking her up today. Reach soon.

-Kris

Sweet Baby Jesus. June's gonna kick my ass today. I finish breakfast quickly and lock the house, and run to my bike in the driveway.

Time for Paul Walker mode.

"How did you come to school?" I ask June as we walk towards the cafeteria, dodging all the "Hi, Kylee"s from the jocks and the murderous glares given by the popular girls when I greet back.

"Dad dropped me. Hey, by the way, I called you yesterday, at around 9 pm. You didn't answer," she says. "Is everything okay?"

I nod. "Yeah! Everything's fine. I was at Brandon's place yesterday." I walk ahead and sit down on a table, but June's frozen on her spot. I look confused, and she runs over to me and sits on our table, in front of me. "You were at B.A.D's place?! What the hell were you doing there?!!" she hisses.

I clear my throat. "Well, I was-"

"Shh!" she hits my arm hard. "Keep your voice down!"

"But why?"

She gives me a look. "Do you even know how much your reputation could be damaged if people found out that you were at B.A.D's house last night?!"

I sigh. "Do you wanna listen to this or not?"

She nods, and I tell her all that happened last night.
