(Third person POV - Omniscient)
The darkness had engulfed the entire vicinity as the predators came out of the shadows. The wind slashed through the leaves to let the wood know of the arrival of the enemies.
But alas! The guards didn't understood the meaning as they laughed among themselves and chatted, still unaware that five people dressed in darkness were waiting for dusk.
It had been the entire day they didn't move from their positions nor did they let them know of their presence. The silence was so absolute around them that their breathing was loud to their ears. Five pair of eyes glinting dangerously and focused on their targets for the entire day as calculations ran in their heads after each step their preys took.
"It is time, we should move." One of them said in a low voice. It was their leader of the group, Koji.
He pointed his hand to a side to tell them that their mission had just started. Before they left in pursuit, he said to his team, "Don't mess up. If you did, you know what to do."
The others smiled deviously as they nodded. Koji finished his sentence, "That is to kill them all."
They dispersed immediately and moved in the field with the stealth of a cat in a prowl.
They reached the settlement that was surrounded by the forest.
The guards were still laughing and preparing to leave their posts, probably would drown in sake now that their duties had been finished.
Kondo, the second in command, reached the towers when the two archers weren't looking and with swiftness he hit the back of their necks from behind. They tumbled on the floor but he caught their bodies before they could make a sound.
There were two towers behind the settlement and Kondo took care one of them, he looked at the other tower and saw, Hans did the same. All four archers were now unconscious. They tied them up and made sure they wouldn't make a sound even if they woke up.
As their tasks had finished both of them made a bird noise, letting others know that they have completed successfully.
That's when Kairo, Koji and Takagawa took their steps.
They were waiting for the new guards who were about to reach their posts.
Kairo saw the four guards were going to the tower where Hans was as he came through the shadows. And took out his sword. He didn't brought it out from its sealth as he only wanted them unconscious.
His grip tightened and with a swiss he hit two of their heads together and their bodies tumbled on the floor. The other became aware as they turned around however, Kairo was too fast and hit their necks. The gurgling sound was about to come from their mouths as he placed his palms on their mouths and pushed them hard on the floor. They fell, trying to struggle free but he placed his palms on their noses. They couldn't breath and soon their bodies stopped struggling. They were just unconscious from lack of air.
He made sure they weren't pretending and his ears perked at a footstep. Someone was coming...
He looked back and fourth and saw the nearest door was just before him. He knew if anyone saw the bodies, they would be alerted.
So he went for the door and peeked inside. It was empty as he started to drag the bodies.
The moment he finished placing the bodies inside and closed the door, the footsteps came near. Kairo heard they were talking about something and both of them had swords as he heard them clanging against their armour.
From the footsteps he determined there were two soldiers.
As soon as they crossed the door, Kairo opened it and went for their heads. Within a moment they both fell and he dragged them back.
