(Third person's POV- omniscient)
As all the troops of Lord Gokudo had been either captured or dead, Hana started to walk toward her father, her tip to toe was burning in sheer anger.
She heard her father grumbling, "But you still survived..."
"Yes, we did. Thanks to your daughter, Hana..." The prince said.
Well, she wouldn't help them if her husband wasn't keen on protecting them. She helped them because she felt guilty of hurting her own husband.
But she knew she wasn't going to get married...
That man, her so called father ruined it.
The prince asked, "Now that your tactics didn't work, how about you tell us, whom did you sell that poison?"
Her father grinned cockily as if he still wasn't defeated. He thought he still had the chance since he knew the person whom he had sold the poison.
And nobody saw her coming as she growled, taking their attention, "Father..."
Lord Gokudo looked at her and smiled, "Hana! My beautiful daughter! You are freed it seems."
She didn't say anything as she glared at him. He continued, "How about you help me-"
And before anyone could notice, her sword had already pierced through the man's chest.
They couldn't even react as it happened so fast. Even Kairo wasn't aware when did she left from his side. All of their eyes bulged out of their sockets and Lord Gokudo's face displayed disbelief that his daughter had stabbed him.
Blood oozed out of his mouth and ears as Hana stood there before his eyes with two needle swords in each of her hands, looking at him with a pair of cold yet angry eyes.
She hissed as her face twisted in anger, "How dare you try to kill my husband!"
Even if Lord Gokudo was dying before her eyes, she felt nothing and Lord Gokudo laughed hysterically even when he knew he was going to die. He still held that pride in himself as if he was the winner even if it didn't go according to his plan.
"Husband?" He laughed mockingly at her again, "It was just an act, you fool! You were born only to become a killer. Killers don't get anything but a bunch of deaths by their hands."
Hana knew it already. She was a killer and she had killed many even she didn't know. Thus, she was fated to be alone forever.
It was just she didn't want to believe it and tried to dream something she would never have. Family, friends, companions, partners...
These were all just illusion to her and now her father once again pushed her into the darkness of her heart when she didn't want to go.
Lord Gokudo continue in his death bed as he said, "My little poor Hana! You forgot that you have killed your own parents by your hands..."
Hana's eyes went wide.
She certainly didn't remember anything. All she remembered that Lord Gokudo was her father.
He grinned evilly as he said, "I'm not your father, you foolish little girl! You were an abandoned girl who only had a good poison resistance in her body."
He laughed, "You were only one of my sample!"
And in a moment, her whole world shattered into pieces. Everything she knew, everything she had all became just a one big lie.
"I took you in because all my sons and daughters couldn't survive my poisons! They were useless! But you..." He praised her, "You had survived! I taught you everything because you were the perfect heir from me who would carry my legacy. You are the poisonous girl who could kill anyone in a blink of an eye."
But no matter how much he praised her, it was just pinning her heart like a bunch of needles.
He continued like a mad person, "You even made an amazing poison that could burn anyone leaving only the ashes! You don't need any husbands! All you need is to become like me and follow my legacy!"
Was it what she really wanted?
No matter where she went, she left behind only dead people. It was always cold and dark. She didn't want that but she had no other choice since all the knowledge she had gained only to make others suffer and that was why she never really belonged anywhere.
Her father or better, an insane man who had adopted her, only let her stay because of this trait. After he was gone, there was no place for her anymore...
There was no place where she belonged. She had nothing to go back.
She stood there with an empty and broken heart and said, "But I never wanted to follow your legacy... All I wanted to have somewhere to belong..."
He said with a growl, "You fool! There is no place where you belong! You will always be alone! You are just a killer!"
She only stood there as whatever that man was saying was true. She was a killer...
And she had nothing...she was alone.
It was weird that she didn't have tears to cry as her dead eyes only watched that man oozing blood and dying slowly.
And then she heard a crack. As she looked at the source, she saw Kairo had punched Lord Gokudo on his face so hard that the poor old man had tumbled down to the floor.
And he growled angrily, "Never call my wife a killer. She just saved Princess Rose and saved all of us from your useless poison, you bastard!"
A gap formed on her lips as she looked the tall man who just stood before her as if he would just take every blows that would come to her way.
He said with a hiss, "She will never be alone and she will never follow your foolish legacy because she belongs with us!"
Hana's lips quivered and for the first time, she experienced her tears. She didn't know she could really feel this weird emotion but she felt. She was surprised, sad and happy all together just because of one man who stood before her.
Gokudo huffed as he had lost too much blood now and he knew finally that he had lost.
All the cockiness he had went away because he saw that the girl he raised was finally going away from his hands. Up until now, she had never decided for herself but now she started to do that.
He was angry that all his works went in vein and he couldn't just accept the happiness of the girl.
A place where she belonged! Hah! What a joke!
He said, his words had started to scramble as his consciousness was fading, "Do you want to know how did your parents die?"
Hana looked at him with wide eyes as he smiled. "You made a poison and to test it, you used your parents... You poisoned them everyday and they didn't even know... You are just like me, Hana. You will end up killing that pretty husband of yours sooner or later."
Worry and shock came crashing on her face as Lord Gokudo smiled evilly.
He knew that he had lost but he didn't want her to win.
As his body tumbled down he looked at the prince. He didn't know he was a person with the knowledge of poisons like her.
He had only thought that he was great. A defeat like this was really a shame for him.
But he accepted his defeat.
His words wouldn't come out as he couldn't say who was the one he sold the poison to kill the emperor.
He thought, he had become so evil that he couldn't even do a good thing even when he was dying.
He laughed at himself and then from a blurry vision he saw the person whom he had sold was standing there. He didn't know how did that person came here but maybe it was a chance he was given to do one good thing.
He had killed his wives, his sons and daughters even his whole family because he was always so passionate about his work. For him, only he mattered.
With so much effort, he pointed his finger at that person and soon darkness engulfed him in its arms.
