[A week after the culprit was caught]
(Bianka's POV)
It had been a few days when Kairo and the others came back but due to their interrogation, they couldn't come meet me. Especially Kairo...
At that time, I had no idea of that mission since Arashi never told me about those. He was worried it would make me worry and would make my body collapse again. So he started to leave out the important details, telling me only the things which won't make me worried.
Of course, I was worried... All the time. The pressure of someone trying to assassinate us and Hana was missing for more than a week made me worry day and night.
I was also worried for Shinkyo and Rose.
Rose had tried to reach me several times but each times, I made up an excuse that I was sick. I was afraid that she would tell me Daichi was the culprit.
I was just a girl from a small city of Kosaki, and had no idea of how the royalty worked. Especially the politics. The dirty politics of them made me sick. I wanted a normal life but marrying a prince wasn't going to give me that. Not ever.
I knew we could never go back to living in Godoyama... Because Arashi needed to protect his family and Shinkyo. They were his responsibility as well. I couldn't be selfish anymore but my weak heart was too weak to make up my mind.
It was funny how I envied the royalty when I was a child, thinking their lives were so simple and easy. They had wealth, fame and power. They had so many people to do their works. Lots of maids, lots of people to follow.
Like every little girl would think of becoming a princess and live a rich life, at times, I had thought of that too. I even told my silly dreams to my cousin, Touma.
But never had I ever thought a royalty meant everyday stress and worry, constant tactics to fight your invisible enemies. The responsibility of people around you, the protection of them and your own lives. But even though you keep every one safe, there could be anyone who was ready to stab you from behind. To betray you in a blink of an eye.
They could be wearing masks of good people and could be waiting for their turns.
Of course, the royalty had wealth but power and wealth come with a cost. And I was beginning to understand that cost of becoming a princess.
Having a child meant the heir of the throne thus it made me a perfect target for assassination. Having good followers meant Arashi was a perfect candidate for the throne, making him also a target. The more powerful you become, the more risky it gets.
People were certainly very twisted and each and every second was reminding me of that. Having Kuro soldiers meant we were powerful enough to complete for the throne but it also made us so many enemies that we weren't sure whom to trust.
"Hana! Where have you been?!" I growled angrily at her as I was so worried. My face must have shown it as Hana immediately looked away in guilt.
Although she left me a letter but it still wasn't clear where she was going and thinking Kairo would be so hurt, I asked Arashi to look for her.
Arashi was present with us as he said, "She had went with Kairo..."
My head snapped at Arashi and then to Hana...
I thought Kairo had went on a mission...
I asked, "But Kairo told me he was going on a secret mission?!"
Arashi's face became a little displeased as he said while his eyes glared at Hana, "Well, he did but apparently, Hana went behind him in secret, conducting her own personal secret mission..."
Hana flinched as she looked away. She mumbled, "But... I captured the culprit..."
"No, you didn't!" Kairo entered our chamber as he growled making Hana shrunk more. She looked like a bunny surrounded by wolves...very angry and displeased wolves.
It appeared, both Kairo and Arashi were furious at her since it was a dangerous mission.
Hana muttered, "But I did help with recognising the culprit..."
Kairo clenched his teeth as Arashi asked with a cold voice, "Hana, did you think, Kairo and the others wouldn't be able to recognise him if you hadn't gone?"
Hana's shoulders slumped down as if she knew what she did was reckless...
Arashi said, "It could have hindered the mission and you could have lose your life!"
Guilt clouded her face as she kept looking down, her palms clenched against her dress.
She said, "I don't care if I died...but if something happened to Kairo..." Her palms clenched further.
And it made Kairo furious. But it made me more furious than him as I yelled, "What do you mean you don't care if you died?!"
Hana looked at me as she was a bit shocked at my outcome. My anger boiled in my stomach as I looked at her with a furious gaze. How could she say this so casually!
I said, "I know you were worried about him but don't you dare think that your husband can't even save himself!"
Hana was awestruck as I said, "Not believing in him means you are disrespecting his skills. It was indeed a dangerous mission even I was worried too but I knew Kairo and the others were the ones who could do it. Arashi chose them for a reason, Hana! He wouldn't be so happy if any of his subjects ended up being dead. That includes you."
Knowing, she had certainly doubted both Kairo's and Arashi's potentialities, she muttered weakly, "I—I am sorry... I was just... That man is too dangerous and I couldn't think straight."
I said, "That man could be dangerous but you have yet to understand the potentiality of Kuro soldiers... They risk their lives for the sake of us! So we could live in peace but you, dying on them would defeat their purpose!"
Hana had already shrunken further as three of us were scolding her for her recklessness. But at one point, I got why she did that...
She had power to protect her loved one. She knew how to fight and she was good at it but I didn't. And maybe, I was a little jealous of her that she could be reckless. On the other hand, if I went, it would make me a liability...
While I was genuinely worried for her, I was jealous that she was younger but she was stronger than me. She wasn't broken even if she knew we were under a lot of pressure. There could be enemies among us but she wasn't worried because she knew she would be able to protect them with a cost of her life.
And here, I was scared to lose my life... I was hiding under the protection of Arashi and others. I felt like a coward and it made me frustrated. The more frustrating was that I wasn't able to help them...which Hana did.
Even if Komesuge caught him, he was in doubt if that man was our culprit but Hana appearing there made it certain. So, she helped them in a way.
Arashi said, "Hana, you are also an important member of Shinkyo. So think before you act and don't ever say that you don't care if you died."
He added, "You are just as important for Bianka and others as you are important for Kairo. No one would be happy if any one of you ended up loosing your lives."
Tears started to flow from her eyes as she nodded. "I'm sorry..."
She dashed toward me as she buried her face on my shoulder and I started to pay her head, my heart melting. I was really worried...
I sniffed and said, "Don't ever make me worry..."
She nodded as Arashi gave a gentle smile but Kairo was still mad at her.
I said, "So... The culprit was caught..."
Arashi nodded as his face became grim, "And we are one step closer to get the real culprit."
