buckle up mateys, it's a long'un

Unconscious, Steve and Teresa were pulled to a new room, one which housed a whole toolkit for inflicting pain. Robin had also been thrown onto the floor, and had immediately shuffled to check up on her friends. Showing her own protective nature, she'd demanded to know what they'd done to both of them, only to get a slap in return. With an aching, dare she say burning, face, she now sat in the chair, bound to her friends, occasionally yelling for help.

She didn't prove to be a favourite of the soldiers either, having spit in the commander's eye as he laughed at them. She really did learn from the best.

"Robin, please," Teresa came to with a gentle groan, leaning her head back as she tried to alleviate the stiffness of her neck.

    "Reese?"

Tasting the metallic tang of blood, Teresa gathered what she could and spit to the side, the red dots painting the floor between the two girls. "Are you okay?" she turned her head to look at Robin.

    "Are you?"

"Not important," she looked away in an attempt to hide her blooming bruises. She could feel her skin swelling in certain places, though she was quite appreciative they didn't hurt her eyes. She could still see with both of them, which was more than she could say about Steve on her other side.

Seeing her reluctant to answer, Robin once more turned ahead and began to scream.

"Hey," Steve's voice piped up, "Would you stop yelling?" he asked, voice restricted as his own pain kicked in.

"Steve! Oh, my God!" Robin realised, trying to turn to look at him.

"Steve," Reese whispered, turning her head towards him also but he hadn't sat up properly just yet. "Are you okay?" she asked before Robin could.

"My ears are ringing, and I can't really breathe, my eye feels like it's about to pop out of my skull, but, you know, apart from that, I'm doing pretty good," Steve replied, glancing at Reese with a small embarrassed smile. "You?"

"Well, the good news is that they're calling you a doctor," Robin chuckled, the other two looking around to take in the room.

"Is this his place of work?" Steve asked, Teresa letting out a small chuckle.

"I love the vibe," Reese agreed as Robin laughed nervously again.

    "Charming," Steve nodded.

"Yeah, tell me about it," Robin spoke, "So, okay, do you see that table over there to your right?" she turned, Steve doing the same but turning the wrong way as Teresa was stuck staring at the door in front of her. "No, your other right, Steve."

"Feeling a little left out here, guys," Reese commented, but felt Steve turn where Robin was directing.

"Yeah, okay," she spoke as Steve finally saw what she was. "And do you see those scissors?"

    "Uh-huh."

"Yeah, well, I think that if we move at the same time, we could get over there, and then maybe I could kick the table and knock them into your lap," Robin spoke to him, turning to Teresa who gave her a small nod.

"And I could cut the binds."

"Yeah, and we could get out of here," Reese replied.

"Gotcha. Okay, yeah, we can do that," he nodded, knocking Reese's back with his shoulder which was made a little difficult by the belt holding their backs against each others'.
