Roselyn was surprised to see Sheriff Galpin run into their cells that night. He had this frenzied look in his eye, relentlessly apologising as he escorted them to separate vehicles. He hadn't taken all the shackles off Xavier, which was weird enough, taking him personally to his car. Roselyn had been given a female officer's vehicle, somehow allowed to sit in the back without cuffs. She assumed they were just taking precautions instead, but regardless, Roselyn's car had been directed towards Nevermore.

"I'm sorry about what that officer did to you," she started, peeking at the quiet girl in the back. "He's never been a great guy." Roselyn scoffed lightly.

"You would think times have changed, diversity should be accepted. But no," she mumbled, picking with her sleeve. "Where are we heading to?"

The officer drove so fast through the fog, she was worried. "We got a call to go to Nevermore, Sheriff said to take you in case you had any information as things went down."

As she finished that sentence, Roselyn watched the officer squint through the fog at something in the distance. Within seconds, the figure of some disembodied person came into view. In the middle of the road, just stood there. And the female officer didn't see until she was seconds off hitting the figure.

They both screamed as the tires burned into the tarmac, the car swerving into a nearby tree. Roselyn had enough time to brace herself for impact, holding onto both headrests and ducking; the female officer wasn't as lucky.

The sound of shallow breathing cut through the silence.

"Miss?"Roselyn asked, peeking up from her position as the car stopped. "Are you alright?" But her spine tingled. Eyes watering, she tentatively moved her bloodied hand to the woman's shoulder. "No, no no no."

Roselyn had to crawl over the backseat to reach her, trying to shove the airbags back to see the damage. Choking back sobs, she tried to put pressure on the woman's chest, blood oozing from the impaled branch. "Uh, phone, something," she muttered, frantically finding a walkie-talkie. She pressed some random buttons, whatever worked to get help for the woman.

"I'm already on my way, Janet. What is it?" Sheriff Galpin.

Roselyn's teeth were grinding as she focused on the woman with shallowing breath, "Uh, Janet needs help - we, we saw something in the road. She swerved, she needs help please-"

"Who is this? Roselyn? What happened, where are you?" He nearly yelled down the phone. "We're on our way to Nevermore."

"Please, call an ambulance, something. She's not going to last long, please," she wailed down the walkie before it cut off, static reverberating through her ear canals.

A sudden movement by the bonnet brought her attention from the useless item in her hand, seeing Thing pat on the windshield.

"Thing...? Thing!" She yelled, unwinding the passenger window to crawl out. "What?... Oh, oh no... I should go help... But, the officer, she's dying!" She conversed with him.
