Laney~
This is bad.
I was sitting on the swing in the park, swinging slowly back and forth, my hair flicking into my eyes.
Corey knows. He knows.
I closed my eyes tightly, I don't even know Abby that well, I don't know what she's capable of.
My eyes opened and I jumped off the swing, landing on my feet. I sighed, looking at the sun setting in the distance.
I should probably head back now.
My head dropped, and an upsetting frown was spread across my face. As I started to leave the park grounds, the tapping of my footsteps were no longer the only sounds that I could hear.
I looked up as the footsteps in fount of me also stopped.
"Laney?"
My jaw dropped, as my eyes kinda widened.
"Um, ah..." I started, but it was harder than I thought to start a sentence. "Hi... um,"
I looked up at him before I finished. "Nick".
Okay, this is weird.
"This is unexpected, what're you doing here?" he waved. This was unexpected, Nick was the last person I would expect to run into. Nick also wasn't smiling, so it was kinda hard to predict what he was thinking. Then again.
"I was, um...?" I don't know actually, now that I think about it. "I was just, um, you know, enjoying the... flowers" I awkwardly answered.
Nick thought for a moment. "That may be, but the flowers look kinda dead" he told me. "Don't you think" he picked one up which was wilting, and almost completely dead.
I shrugged nervously, trying to pretend that I wasn't here because of the band or anything and Nick sighed.
"You know, you're not gonna get far by lying, Laney Penn" he saw through me, while calling me by my full name.
I dropped both my head and shoulders, sighing deeply. "You noticed, huh?".
"Well, when you project your thoughts aloud so much, you tend to notice" he answered, smiling.
I nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I guess" I sighed again. I looked back up at him as I was about to ask; "so, what are you doing here?"
He frowned as he answered. "I was hoping you would answer my question first"
I looked back down, dropping my shoulders as well. "I'm here because..." I looked back up at him, as he awaited my answer. "Because of my cousin"
He looked kind of confused or surprised, but it was hard to tell. He didn't reply, waiting for me to continue.
"Well..." I started. "It's a long story" I told him, rubbing my arm, hoping that I wouldn't have to explain it.
"I have time" he answered, as if I stated a question. I sighed, before continuing to explain.
"You see, my cousin is staying with us, and I didn't find out that she was even related to me until two days ago. I don't know her well, and I don't want everyone else in the band to know that she's staying with me" I told him. Nick thought for a second, then replied.
"So, what you're saying is that you don't trust her around the other band members?" He asked. I looked at him surprised at how he understood that, and nodded.
"And earlier, I kinda..." I trailed, rubbing my arm again. Was it even a good idea to be telling Nick all of this? I haven't even talked to Nick before, let alone known him.
"Told one of them" he finished for me.
I looked up, surprised, but then slowly sighed and nodded. "You got it".
Nick thought, but soon smiled and walked up to me. "Well, sometimes you can't trust some people." I rose an eyebrow, but he put a hand on my shoulder, and finished.
"But sometimes you have to gain the trust you want"
He took a step back before turning around, and started walking. He quickly looked over his shoulder.
"Catch you later, laney Penn" he turned his head back around, walking out of the park.
I looked down at my shoulder, from where he had pat me, and then looked back over at Nick, as he went out of sight.
Is this how Nick normally is? Wow... now I understand how Trina feels. I mean, at first I just thought that Nick was just some pretty boy that girls would fawn-over. Huh, he's actually a pretty cool guy.
My thoughts cut off, and I shook my head. I would still have to try and get back home soon anyway.
I looked back up, the sky black, and small white dots covering and lighting it up. I put my head back down, and continued to walk home from there.
Corey~
Oh man, what have I done? I probably scared her off. What was I thinking?!
I sat on the stage, sighing up a storm. I had my head on my hand, looking to the ground.
Suddenly the thunder from outside struck just as the garage door opened.
"Ew, now I'm all wet." Trina. Oh great this just keeps getting better and better. I sighed, and decided to ignore her.
"Gasp!" Trina squealed. "Corey, what are you doing home alone?"
"Alone?" I ask, slightly confused. Trina sounds.... different.
"Yes, silly. You shouldn't be here alone." Trina says, pointing her finger up while closing her eyes. As if stating something.
"Wait, 'silly'? You don't normally call me that."
"Gasp! That's right I don't. Um... how does mean Trina act?" Trina asked herself quietly.
"Wait, mean Trina?" I ask, jumping off of the stage. Why was Trina talking to herself?
"I-I ah..." She stumbled on her response, I lifted an eyebrow while Trina rubbed the back of her head.
"Wait a minute.... Katrina?" I ask, and take a step closer to her as a beam of sweat goes down her forehead.
"Hey... baby brother."

Me: Corey, shut up.

Laney: Katrina is back?

Corey: you've been talking to Nick?!
Me: Corey, shut it!
(Goes quiet again)
Me: huff, anyway. (Takes long breath) I'm sorry I haven't updated in nearly a year! I've been busy, and lost interest for a bit, but you can expect more chapters in the future, I promise!!
