Corey~

I needed to see Laney. I have to apologize to her. But how was I going to get to her? Now that the twins arrived I can't just leave, and Laney probably heard Katrina before and left. But then what if she left with Nick?

What was she even doing here with Nick anyway? They aren't. . . Actually. . . Together, together. . . Right?

"Dude, are you okay?" I looked up at Kin as he asked this. I lifted an eyebrow until I processed his question.

"Yeah, I'm. . . Fine." Kin put his hand to his chin, his eyes squinting. He hummed, as if thinking I was being suspicious. Which, in fair light, was kinda true.

Katrina must have noticed my distance and decided to help me out here.

"Hey, Kinny, where'd Kon go?" Katrina tapped Kin's shoulder. He dropped his hand from his chin then looked around the park.

"I don't. . ." Then he cut off his sentence and stared at something behind me. He tilted his head. "Is that Laney with Nick over there?"

Crud, he saw her. He's not gonna want to go over there is he?

I decided to fake my surprise. "Where?" I turned around to where kin was looking. Kon was walking up to the two, not that they noticed. We watched as he tapped Laney's shoulder, making her jump. Nick watch her and chuckled.

He. Did. Not. I know that look. Only I can give Laney that look.

Kin lifted an eyebrow then decided to join Kon. Calling out Laney's name as he did so.

I felt my shoulder get tapped, so I turned to look at Katrina.

"Someone's jealous." She smiled sweetly, and my cheeks went red.
"I-I am not!" I quickly tried to defend myself, hoping I'd also reassure myself as well. Katrina giggled.

"Can't hide from me, little bro." Katrina smiled then walked off to where the others were. Leaving me to think.

Am I really being that obvious?

I slowly looked to my hands. I couldn't go over there and join them, I still couldn't face her. Which is the worst, because now that I haven't she's gone off to Nick! Out of all the people! It could have been Kin at the most, but the most popular guy in peaceville! How long have they been seeing each other?!

"Yo, Riffin!"

Larry~

I was nearly out of the park. Then Abby yanked herself out of my grip and pointed to one of the benches.

"Hey, look it's Corey!" I turned around and looked to where she was pointing. Blue hair, orange beanie. Yep, dead give away.

So he was here too? I wonder if he's spotted Laney.

Abby started to walk off again, but again I grabbed her arm before she could get far.

"Wait, you can't just go up to him." She huffed.

"Why not?" I rolled my eyes.

"Look, Abby. Newman, Grojband, remember? If he sees us together, it'll ruin both my life and Laney's." I tried to get this through her head. Abby stared for a second then sighed.

"Yeah, you're right." I sighed in relief then smiled.

"Great--"

"Which is why you need to stay put, kay?" She cut me off, my mouth still hung open. "Thanks, bro." Abby pat my head then turned and walked over to where Riffin was.

Before I could run after her she was stood in fount of Corey. I stood frozen. Damn it, I can't go over there. . . But if she says something about Laney, I'm doomed. Then I remembered something.

Abby knew Laney was at the park three days ago also, and if Corey doesn't know that Laney's with Nick. . . Damn, out of all the times you had to be so intrusive Abby. I gripped at my hair.

If I don't stop her, she'll bust something about Laney.

On the other hand, if I do stop her, Corey will get more suspicious. He knows Abby's Laney's cousin, and if I'm seen hanging out with her. . .

But she'll tell him anyway, I just know it.

I groaned silently. Laney will be angry with me either way, but it's to save her reputation in her band. I sucked in a breath then ran over.

They didn't notice me until I cut Abby off from what she was saying.

"That's enough, Abby." I glared at her as she smiled sheepishly. Corey stared, eyebrow lifted and eyes wide. Just ignore him, Larry. I grabbed Abby's arm. "Come on, we're leaving." I started to turned, then Abby was pulled out of my grip.

"Hey man, we were talking. You can't just do that." Of course Corey would stop a Newman. Sometimes I hate how much he hates us.

I turned back around and glared at him. Laney, please don't kill me. "Yes, I can."

Corey rolled his eyes. "How so?"

"Because she's my sister."

Everything went dead silent. There was suddenly no noise from any kids on the playground, or couples in the park. Just as Corey sunk this in.

"Your. . ." He paused. I took this chance to grabbed Abby again and walk off before I was questioned.

Surprisingly, Abby stayed quiet as we got out of the park. I got onto the path way until I noticed other people walking my way.

I looked up and saw a slightly confused Laney, and a surprised Kin.

"Larry, what are you doing here?" Laney asked after some silence. I stared for a few seconds, then rubbed the back of my neck nervously, and looked to Abby, then back to the other two.

"Can we go home and explain?" I asked, Kin and Laney shared a look. Then turned back to me and nodded.

All four of us headed back home silently after that.
