it had been a few months since the whole bracelet situation, and milo still worried about it to this day. it's not like it would magically reappear one day, she had to find out where it was.
she had to clear her mind from it though, it was new years eve! wyatt, paige, and her had a yearly tradition where they hung out on new year's eve and debriefed about everything that'd happened to them so they could enter the new year 'fresh' minded. everyone knew the main topic of the night would be the whole booth situation, even though they all dreaded the topic. it's a little hard to solve a mystery when you have no hints, clues, or even evidence it happened.
sometimes she'd wished she got that one guy's number, he might've been able to help her. she also often wondered what he was saying to her when he was being pulled away by what seemed to be his dad? older brother? who knows?
she also realizes it's not good to ponder on the past for too long and live in her regrets. new year's isn't a time for sadness and pouting around.
milo's thoughts were interrupted by her aunt opening the front door as her two best friends walked into her living room very excited for the night. too excited.
"why are you guys so happy?" her aunt, hazel, asked.
"well aunt hazel, we have great news for milo!" wyatt said after sitting down on the couch.
"so great she won't believe it?"
"better. so great she'll hug me!" paige said, copying wyatt's movements.
"uh, milo's right here?" she said from the kitchen, watching the whole interaction go down. they instantly sprung to their feet and ran into her kitchen to tell her their great news.
"hi milo!"
"hi?"
"we have great news for you."
"i heard." there was a pause and they all sat and looked at each other for a few seconds. "well what is it?"
"so paige and i were talking outside your door, and apparently paige has family in swellview!"
"are you serious?" milo asked perking up a little bit.
"would we lie to you?"
"well-"
"don't answer that, we aren't finished." paige interrupted. "we're going as a family trip in a few weeks! i'm cousins with some guy named jasper dunlop, he sounds like a loser."
