March, 2011
Stevie sat in the nook by the window, sipping her morning coffee and looking out toward Park Avenue. She loved the way New Yorkers embraced these warmer Spring days; everyone was out and about and happy.
She looked down to the street, making up scenarios for every person who caught her eye, as she always did. Maybe a song would come to her...
"Stevie?" She quickly snapped out of her daze at the sound of Karen's voice.
"Yes?" She asked, turning around and struggling to keep her open robe somewhat wrapped around her body.
"You have your soundcheck at MSG at 4:30, can you confirm this backstage list so I can give it to security for tonight?" Karen handed her the sheet of paper.
"I don't want anyone coming backstage besides her, Karen." Stevie stated matter of factly.
"Stevie...it's your MSG show, there's so many people –"
"So tell them to come by before the show. I need to be alone tonight." She interrupted. Karen could only shrug her shoulders.
"Alright, well then can you please confirm the rest for pre-show then?" She watched as Stevie glanced over the list.
Stevie rolled her eyes in defeat, "Fine, let them come back after, but we're kicking them out after 30 minutes." She handed the list back to Karen and quickly turned back around to continue people watching, trying to ease her apprehensions for later that night.
It'd be the first time she saw her in nearly 3 years. They'd spoken briefly on the phone, but those few conversations were usually too painful. But Stevie made sure she'd properly see her tonight. Though she knew nothing more than an innocent reunion could occur, she knew herself; it'd be more.
She felt Karen's presence still looming and realized she forgot to dismiss her for now.
"Thanks, Karen. I'll see you at 3:30." Stevie said softly, her back still turned. Karen sighed and quietly left her room, making sure to shut the door behind her to let her boss ruminate, as she had done for the last few weeks since this evening was planned.
Stevie took another sip of coffee, crying as she realized she'd be outside the comfort of her Waldorf Astoria suite only to relive the pain from that morning in just mere hours.

A gaggle of people began to file out of the dressing room. Some were fans, reeling about the fact that they just met their idol, others were friends who Emma recognized from when she ran this woman's life.
She often had to remind herself that she once was the machine behind Stevie Nicks; she once knew everything. Now it was as if she didn't know her at all. She thought about how much she herself changed these last 2.5 years: she now had a career – thanks to Stevie's connections, of course – and finally lived in her own apartment without roommates after struggling to make rent for 2 years. She'd gone from the bottom of the food chain at her company to a comfortable middle tier. She finally enjoyed her job.
But she'd be remiss if she didn't admit to thinking about her nearly every day. It was really difficult at first, fantasizing about being with her while with another person. However, she slowly started to get over it, forming new emotional bonds with a few people since. But every time she closed her eyes, whenever she pleasured herself, there was on person she saw – one person who owned her soul.
"Emma...you can go in now." Karen gave her a timid wave, clearly unsure and uneasy with how to handle this situation. She stepped aside to let Emma in and gently closed the door behind her, leaving the two of them alone.
"Hi, Em..." She heard her voice for the first time in months, since Karen organized this meeting via email.
She looked up, straight ahead at her. She was even more beautiful than 2.5 years ago, if that was even possible. Her golden hair was in loose waves, her cleavage tastefully spilling out of her black mini dress. She still had her leggings on, accentuating her shapely thighs that once tightly quivered against her head while she cried out in pleasure from her touch.
"Hey. You sounded great tonight." Emma stumbled to find the right words.
Stevie smiled softly. Emma just stared at her pink lips – the same shade as her nipples that once begged for her mouth around them – the same lips that hadn't kissed her in nearly 3 years though she still remembered exactly how they felt on hers.
"Can I...hug you?" Stevie asked shyly, looking down at her hands, which she absentmindedly had playing with the hem of her dress. She looked up, her brown eyes growing wet with tears.
Emma moved closer to her, feeling as though she was watching herself. It was like she went on autopilot, throwing herself into Stevie's embrace and immediately grabbing her face in her hands, pressing her forehead to hers as she looked deep into her those brown eyes.
She didn't hesitate to kiss her, and Stevie didn't hesitate to deepen the kiss, their tongues finding their ways back to their familiar rhythm; it was like riding a bike.
Stevie broke the kiss and looked up to meet the few inches Emma had on her. "Baby..." She whispered. Emma couldn't help but smile.
"Can we go back to my hotel? I want to talk, but I don't want to just sit on the couch in this dingey room."
Emma thought about it for a moment. She told herself she wouldn't give in, that she couldn't bear to go through losing her again the next morning. But after that kiss, after being reminded of what she was missing – what she needed – she couldn't say no.
"Okay. Let's go." She took Stevie's hand leading her to gather her things and head toward the car.
"There better be a jacuzzi tub." She teased, squeezing her hand as they spotted the SUV.
Stevie squeezed hers back, "It's all yours, my dear."
