It was a beautiful day on the Freedom. It'd been 4 months since Henry broke the curses of the sea and freed his father, William Turner, from The Dutchman. It only took the Turners those 4 months to realize you can't take the pirate out of the Pirate King or the former captain of The Dutchman, so they brought The Freedom from the allowance Will had earned from Blacksmithing, as well as some help from Elizabeth'a inheritance. the 4 months had been as peaceful as pirate life could be, the only real fights being saving their beloved ship from being commandeered from other pirates, as the Turner's had build quite a reputation. However they had remained to keep their ship with limited to no bloodshed.
As the ship floated along the sea, the Turners all on their usual posts. William at the wheel, with Elizabeth perched at a table pressed against the side of the ship, near the helm, with Will. And Henry perched at the end of the ship, peeking through his beloved spyglass.
Will looked to his side to see his beloved wife studying a map he'd given her before they set sail, 4 months ago. "Is there any particular reason your studying that map, Love, you do know we don't have a set destination" Will said with an amused look at his wife, who looked up at him with a soft smile "well Dear, someone has to make sure we don't end up in a shipwreck simply because men are too proud to look at a map" Elizabeth said with an playful smirk. Will arched an eyebrow and turned to face his wife, his left hand still lazily placed on the wheel "are you implying I'm like all men?". Elizabeth looked at him and rolled her eyes playfully "of course not Dear" she said with a tone that suggested otherwise. Will scoffed and stretched his leg out quickly, hooking his boot to the bottom of her chair and yanking back, causing the chair to swing straight out from under her and caused her to land on her butt with an oof and a shriek. Elizabeth looked up and glared a deathly glare at Will, who showed no fear. "William Turner your going to pay for tha-" "Mother, Father!" Henry exclaimed, cutting Elizabeth off and causing the couple to turn and face their son. "What is it son?" Will asked his son as he turned his gaze to look at his son who now stood with him and Elizabeth at the helm. "There's a shipwreck, just east of here, look" he said handing his father the spyglass. Who then handed the wheel to Elizabeth. Will looked through the spyglass and hummed "it's destroyed, anyone who was in that ship, must be long dead" he said as he closed the spyglass and handed it back to his son. Henry glanced at the island and frowned "what is it my love?" Elizabeth asked gently. Henry looked at his mother briefly, then back at the island "I just have a bad feeling" Henry said whilst still looking at the island. Will looked at Elizabeth and shrugged briefly before looking at his son "what do you mean, son?" Will asked, although he had a feeling where this was going. Henry looked at his father and sighed "I don't know father, I just feel like we're missing something, maybe we should cast anchor and go take a look" he said as he through another long glance at the island with a furrowed brow. Elizabeth looked at her son and husband "it wouldn't hurt to check it out, Will" she said calmly, she also had a strange feeling as she took a longer look at the ship, splintered and broke from stem to stern. William sighed heavily and nodded "alright, one night" he said as he cranked the wheel to turn towards the island. Once they casted anchor the family hopped down from The Freedom. The family threw eachother uneasy glances while Will's hand automatically grasped the handle of his sword's holster, Elizabeth did the same, even taking her's out slightly, but not fully. While Henry took his out but held it loosely in his hand. The family walked carefully towards the ship and looked around "storm" Elizabeth murmured solemnly, while Will hummed deeply in agreement. Henry simply nodded while he grabbed a rope hanging of the side of the ship, the only thing that seemed intact "strange" he muttered as he hoisted himself up. "Careful!" Elizabeth called out as she looked up from the end of the rope, Will by her side. Henry smiled down at his mother and turned to face the fate of the ship. His smile dropped immediately and his eyes widened "no" he breathed. "What is it son?" Will commented, noticing his son's sudden change of mood. "Y-you might want to see this" Henry said, his voice thick with shock and emotion. Will and Elizabeth both glanced at each other concerned before climbing up the rope to their son. Once up Elizabeth gasped and grabbed Will's chest for support, while Will's face hardened and his hand grasped around Elizabeth's waist for comfort. There before them was a man around William's age slumped, lifeless over the wheel of the ship. He had brown long hair and a clean shaved face, but dressed in simple pirate garb and a sword strapped around his waist, clearly a pirate. Beside him laid a women who looked only a few years younger then him. She had blond hair that was splayed wildly over her face, covering most of it. She too was lifeless. "These poor people" Elizabeth murmured solemnly as Will snaked an arm around her waist and gently squeezed comfortably. While the family gazed sadly at the 2 poor people. They soon split up to look around a bit. Taking their time to not seem disrespectful, but curiosity got the best of them. Henry soon went down to the cabin while his parents explored the top of the ship. Suddenly a muffled sob caught his attention, his gaze snapped to the sound. he moved a few things and gasped at what he found "P-please don't hurt me"Cliffhanger! I was going to keep writing but I kept going off track and making it too long. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed. I'll make part 2 as soon as I can!
