47. Jily Meets Harry Potter(time-turner incident)

A/N: This chapter is important, firstly, it's important for future chapters, and secondly, I wanted to explore how James and Lily, and Harry will interact when this happens. They only meet for about a day and after that James and Lily return back.

"What do you mean the basilisk will be killed soon?" asked Lily.

"First we need to go and see Dumbledore, and there I will explain about killing the basilisk," said James.   

Lily wanted him to explain what he means now, but she was afraid of the letter and knew that James will tell her, "Should I tell my parents about the war?" she asked and could feel tears in her eyes as she remembered about her boggart, about losing her parents, she clutched James tightly.

"It's your choice, Lily and I don't think I have a say in this, and I have no experience in these things," said James. "And Dumbledore will make sure that they are safe and we will try and defeat Voldemort."

Lily never lets her guard down and has always been bold, but James' hold, his presence gave her the comfort that she let all her guard down and release her feelings which she has held behind and has hidden from everyone, and that's why she let herself to stop holding back her fear for her parents and released all.

"I think he offered my parents to join him too, and they declined it," he mumbled into her neck after a few minutes of silence.

"Are you sure?" asked Lily.

"I heard some part of their conversation over Christmas and then at easter, and now this letter, so, I think he did and now he is threatening to kill them,"

"Ohh, James," she said as she felt his tears falling on her skin. "They will be fine." 

"I hope so," said James. "Let's go and meet Dumbledore and also let's check if others have been offered or not."

Neither Sirius, Mary, Marls or Peter have gotten the letter and Remus was in the hospital wing, so both James and Lily went under the cloak to see him, he was asleep and had no letter. 

"So, it's just us," said Lily as they reached Dumbledore's office.

Once inside, they showed Dumbledore the letter and saw his expressions were unchanged.

"Well I would be lying if I would say that I wasn't expecting this," grimaced Dumbledore. "Both of you are duelling champions and have shown excellent talent that day in Hogsmeade. Voldemort is recruiting students so as to gain more followers before they change sides, he believes that Hogwarts is the best place for recruiting."

"But why me professor? I am a muggle-born, they insult my kind and want to kill us, so why me?" asked Lily.

"From what I heard it's because of two reasons: first, you are a talented witch who is exceptionally good at duelling and second, he has been informed by other sources that James will join them if you join, and if James joins then Sirius will join too and so will Marlene and Remus," informed Dumbledore.

"They are stupid to think under any condition I will join them." said James angrily and then his face grimaced "So, . . . it's because of me that she has been put in danger," said James in a shaky voice, Lily took his hands.

"No, James, don't blame it on yourself," said Lily.

"Lily is right, Malfoy was the one who took the name of Voldemort, and a student from here informed him about Lily's talent and wrote to him to recruit her, and then the fact that she won the championship and then you defeated them in duels and as I said the Hogsmeade fight proved it," said Dumbledore.
