Chapter 3: Meeting

Sophia's POV

I was waiting outside the classroom for the most perfect human being to arrive. I stood there for nearly two hours so i won't miss him. Eventually he came. He was wearing his headphones and was walking really slowly. His hair was messy and his eyes once full of life were now dull and empty. My heart was aching to look at him like this. He passed by me.

Sophia: H-Hey... (Y/N)... How-

He didn't react and entered the classroom. I just stood there and watched him as he sat down and looked through the window. I approached him.

(Y/N)'s POV

(Y/N)'s mind: How long will the rain be pouring for? I'm already sick of it...

From the corner of my eye i saw Sophia approaching. She probably wants to beat me up again. She stopped in front of me. I looked her in the eyes. She seemed kinda... sad? She was about to say something but the bell rang. She went to her seat and class started.

Timeskip after classes

I managed to avoid Sophia the whole day. I just don't care about what she has to say. I was the last one left in the classroom. It's not like somebody was waiting for me at home, so i didn't have any reason to hurry. I was about to go out but Sophia blocked my way. I turned to her without any emotion.

(Y/N): Could you please move?

Sophia: I... I need to talk to you.

(Y/N): You've had a bad day and you need to punch somebody, right?

I dropped my backpack.

(Y/N): Fine. 

Sophia: N-No! It's nothing like that!

I raised an eyebrow.

(Y/N): Then what is it?

Sophia: I... I want us to get back together. Please forgive me, i know i've been really bad to you while you always looked out for me. You were the one who opened my eyes about that cheating piece of shit. You were always the one for me. I feel so dumb for not realizing it earlier. Please... Is it possible for you to forgive me?

She was looking at me with pleading eyes. Is she telling the truth? Nah... That's probably just another way for her to humiliate me. She may've dumped that guy, but i know she's not the type of person to beg another person to get back with them.

(Y/N): Very funny, Sophia. I know you'd never want me back. You're better off without me. 

I gently pushed her out of the way and started walking away. I got tackled from behind. It was Sophia. She was hugging me and would not let go. I turned to her.

(Y/N): What are you doing?

Sophia: Please (Y/N), i'm serious! I want you back and i'm ready to fight for you! This is not some kind of joke! I really want for us to get back together!

(Y/N): Did you see what i left for you on the table?

She didn't respond. Instead she pulled out the small box from her pocket.

Sophia: I... I thought you wanted it back, so i didn't open it.

(Y/N): I don't want it... And it's for you... Open it.

She did as i said. Her eyes widened and got filled with tears.

Sophia: (Y-Y/N) i... I didn't know you wanted us to...

(Y/N): That was before. I don't feel the same way anymore. I'll get going now.

I managed to get out of her grasp and started walking away again. My freedom was short-lived because i got tackled again. It was Sophia. She was crying in my shoulder and staining my jacket with tears. I patted her back. For some reason i still care for her.

(Y/N): There, there. Don't worry, you're a pretty girl. I'm sure you'll find somebody else in the future.

I faked a smile.

Sophia: *Sob* B-But *Sob* I don't want anyone else *Sob* I want you! *Sob*.

(Y/N): *Sigh* Sophia, i don't think that's possible.

Sophia: B-But i'll change *Sob* I'll do whatever you want *Sob* I'll be whatever you want. As long as you're with me i'll be ok.

I wiped her tears away.

(Y/N): Nonsense. Don't be sad when i leave. Soon i will be gone for good. Nobody will miss me. The world won't lose anything. I'm just a pathetic waste of life.

Her eyes widened. She slapped me.

Sophia: Don't say such things about yourself! You're perfect!

(Y/N): Thanks, but that's just not true. Now if you just let go of me-

She hugged me tighter.

Sophia: P-Please... Don't go. You're all i have... Please give me another chance.

(Y/N): Sophia...

Sophia: Please, (Y/N)... I'm nothing without you...

(Y/N): ...

Sophia: Please... I promise i won't hurt you ever again.

(Y/N): Let me ask you something.

Sophia: Anything!

(Y/N): If the roles were reversed... Would you forgive me?

She looked down and didn't say anything.

(Y/N): That's what i thought. 

I slipped away.

(Y/N): Goodbye Sophia. Thank you for being my first and last girlfriend.

I walked away. I could hear quiet sobbing. I couldn't help but feel sad for her. A tear rolled down my cheek.

(Y/N): ... *Whispering* I'm sorry...
